    parts and stuff

2006 ac cab with 4.56 gears, 35x10.50 kenda klever tires, 6spd manual, supercharged, inchworm 4.7 front and single stick fj case in rear. the only issue i had was one of the ball bearings popping out of marlins double row bearing in the crawlbox. that was just from a bad design. like i said, i am almost always in low with the crawl box and high in the tcase

In your case, I wouldn't worry about the gear to chain case setup. You'll break cv axle or chip a ring and pinion before breaking the chain case imo. And if mishap do occur, tcase are super cheap. Around my area, add/j case runs a hundred buck or so.

When I had a chain case I would run 4.7:1 and the rear case in high 90% of the time. Go with 4.7 regardless of what trans you have IMO it's better to have more gearing options than less. It's not even the radical factor, having 4.7 and 2.28 both in low gives you insane control, I couldnt wheel in the rocks without that combo at this point. You can just let it idle in double low and let the truck find traction with small movements of the wheel, it's boring as hell to watch as a spectator, but driving it's awesome.

No chance of missing any critical parts either LOL

Sure! If it takes too long, we can always do a virtual race. According to grim jeeper my truck goes 31 FPM at idle in double low :D

The amount of slow 408:1 would be is insane. I can already drink a beer and eat lunch at 180:1. You could probably jump out, catch some trout, gut the trout, collect some wood, start a fire, cook the trout, put out fire and eat the trout before you even got the tires over a ledge. lol

It's probably slower than 408:1 because it's an automatic. But the number adds up to 408

Forgive my ignorance, what is the formula on how to get your final crawl ratio? I've always wondered how to calculate it

Is there a rubber nub or something that goes on the end of the crawlbox shifter?
Mine rattles when driving on the freeway and it gets pretty annoying.
