Oh you are very smart. I cut into the cab to clear that mount and sheet-metal plated around it.

I didn't want to do that. I'm too lazy to do extra work. Plus, mine sits way way farther back than any dual case. If I did, I would have to cut into the rear floor section for the mount. Plus, this made it easier to remove the mount because it's a 2 piece instead of 1 solid unit.

Basically what I did, but with the rubber rf1a mount instead of a poly one.

What are those traction bar looking things that come forward from your crossmember?

    That looks strangely familiar.

You want the case to be able to move a bit. Tying it into the frame at two points was something I considered and after talking to may folks they all advised not too. So I fabbed that guy up. My rig vibrates but it's from my tires not from me crawlbox. lol

Mine vibrates a bit, but nothing intolerable. I did just sign up for the solid offroad motor/trans mount to add to this though haha. This mount is the 4x mount for the RF1A box. Definitly grabs a bit better than a stock rubber mount, keeps my shifters from knocking into the console :D

I barely feel mine at this point. I used jeep yj leaf spring bushings and it's been great. Super simple, yet effective.

Just another note, I used a 3/4" bolt instead of looking for a long enough metal sleeve. Helps a lot with less vibrations since it's just rubber on metal.

After the RST and Pelfreybilt deal, I wonder where things land with Marlin’s trail of broken promises and insane lead times. Can’t help but notice the similarities in Marlin’s and RST’s marketing tactics and lack of actual product...

Is it at idle or when driving? If when moving I bet your driveshaft isn't phased correctly. Get a digital angle finder and use this video:
    https://youtu.be/dt69zYAcXME

I chased down some pretty violent drivetrain vibes after my SAS, up to and including ditching my 4x innovations poly mount and redesigning how the tcase mounts to the TG crossmember and going back to a rubber mount. Phasing the ujoints using the method in that video got rid of all the vibes. I used to eyeball it/make marks, but I will never do that again.

Another tip is to wrap the slip shaft in duct tape when you have to disconnect the driveshaft from the axle, it allows enough slip to bolt it back up, but it won't fall apart.

No its fine when driving. I do get a little rattle in the sticks, but my vibe is when i am in drive or reverse with the brake applied. Like malburg said, i throw it in neutral at stop lights now.

Couldn’t agree more with this. Year long wait times with several thousand on the table is absurd... you guys have way more trust in people than I do...

Spank my ass and call me charlie. I was leaving the gym right now and the normal vibes were shaking. I grabbed the 2wd-4wd stick and pushed it all the way up. No more vibes , slight rattle in reverse but nothing like before.....wtf o_O

I was getting ready to call that shop to see what it is they used. Shes smooth now. I even pulled out my drop in bedliner because that was vibrating like crazy and i gave it away. Lol

Hey everyone, I recently purchased another tacoma but this ones a big project. I come here because it does have dual cases, but I am looking for a solution to the stick setup. Currently no cup holders. It’s a 2.7l 5 speed. HomerTaco’s setup is supreme but I am not sure if it’s possible to do that with the 5 speed. Curious if anyone here has gone through a similar situation.

Pictured is the current setup. The previous owner had a metal plate to “clean” up the look. Which it didn’t do very good at, and the sticks would just vibrate like crazy on it so I ended up taking it out.

What stick setup were you using? That looks way better than what I got now, and I will gladly take 2 cup holders back.
