I will be calling them today... those pins are not coming out, i would have to drill out the hole in the adapter but that goes for some of the bolt holes as well.

This may seem like an odd question but, in that picture posted, any chance that you have a few of the bolts tightened down?

Nope... i tried it every which way under the vehicle and finally pulled the tail housing for a second time to dry fit it (dry fit the whole assembly except that piece of course)
If i start bolts they are crossed and it wont line up, not a good feeling with aluminum threads and either way the dowel wont line up.
Everything on the passenger side aligns, as the bolt and dowel holes work to the driver they progressively get worse.

Sent pictures to trail gear on monday, they emailed back the following day saying they pulled the parts and test fit it at their shop... doesnt really help me! He did have a suggestion to check but i really think the machining just went awry on my particular adapter.
I am going to pull it from the case and pull all the bolts and send them more pictures, perhaps even pull some meassurements from hole to hole for them to verify but i need to cut the chase and get a new adapter coming in the mail.

Keep us posted Ian. Looks like an unfortunate machining mixup. I hope you get it straightened out.

Alright... i have to own up.
I just pulled the adapter from the crawl box and dry fit it with the bolts that hold it to the crawlbox and the same problem persisted. I looked at the input seal, looked straight, flipped it over looked and felt seated all the way. Figured i would pull ot either way and... sure enough that was it. I set it in with a dead blow and block for even distribution and let the silicone set up, that was enough to throw it all off
My tail is between my legs, but i would rather fess up on my bad then have an actual problem!
For the record, TG responded within 24 hrs and suggested that a bolt was holding it up... they did right in my book.

Hey everyone, long time lurker here. I read through all the posts here (great resources, but looking for clarification) I have the Marlin 4.7 crawlbox, 3.4L Manual transmission. I bolted everything together and it leaked like a sieve between the trans and the crawlbox. I have the cases dropped out currently. I have a couple questions.

1: Does the area between the transmission and the crawl box hold fluid (on purpose)

2: How loose or tight should that adapter fit in the transmission tail housing and will it need to be RTV'd?

    Any help is appricated!

Manual trans, it was Gear oil from the case. the fitment from the crawl box side of the seal extension seems loose.

Just finished up mine about 2 weeks ago, nice and sealed after about 350miles on it.

    1. Early year marlin adapters did not utilize the area between the trans and adapter. The new versions do by design.

    2. Adapters should be scuffed, and some flavor of gasket/rtv should be used. Do not over tighten as we are talking about aluminum/cast aluminum.

Check out this build thread, go through it where it talks about sealing the crawelbox. Follow it exactly, really helps point out all the sealing points and prepping to seal each section. **that seal extension should be red loctite'd on the aluminum to aluminum side. Then RTV before the seal it tapped in and also around the seal ends.

That seal adapter and seal should fit very snug over the input to the tcase.

    1. Area between crawl box to transmission should remain dry. Should not contain any fluid in between there, just like original.

    2. It should be fairly tight. Even though both side/lip are flush, rtv is highly recommended.

Did you hammer the coupler in enough on the input gear and transmission?

You got the original designed tacobox or later one (Anadioze red)?
