I received PDF of the drawing my machine shop provided for the MT coupling I'm having made. It looks good to me...23 female to 22 male...but if anyone who has actually held one of these in their hands has feedback, I'd appreciate it. @HomerTaco @6 gearT444E

I'm having 5 made. 2 are for me, 1 for @hoverlover, and 2 are still available at $600 each.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-marlin-crawler-tacobox.622165/#post-21216375

Edit: I jumped the gun on this post without reading the fine print, drawings are property of the machine shop so can't be posted online...if you're interested in seeing the drawings, please contact me directly.

Any of you guys have autos? Fighting this trim piece. Doesn’t even allow for the full throw of the crawlbox, can’t gdt it seated anyway

Not an auto, but the manual version of that piece looks similar. I had to cut the back of it off to allow for my shifters, if that makes sense. I'll try to find a pic.

I figured i'd have to snip the back as well. The biggest problem is there's not enough room between the crawlbox shifter and the auto shifter to allow that trim piece to seat its self.

    Cut something like this.

    Came out like this.

I’m sure there’s a cleaner solution, but this works for me.

Heat and bend the tcase shifter, will take some trial an error, but it works.

Yeah, that's a legit excuse. At least you noticed it before you installed. Good catch.

Forgot Marlin sends out a shipping confirmation as soon as they get an order. Doubt my crawl box will be in tomorrow.:angrygirl:

Triple sticks from RADesigns should be in soon though. I'll get the FJ case ready.

I'm on the fence about keeping the carrier bearing or going to a single shaft. Looks like drivelive angle remains about the same either way. Any input?

one piece you'll thank me later. Haven't had a problem with mine for 7 years since installing. Get yourself rid of that garbage pillow block bearing setup.

I used a double cardan from 3rd gen 4runners (96-02), have them lengthen it and re-balance, re-used all the u-joints. The double cardan end will bolt right up to the FJ case flange, the differential end has a smaller bolt pattern; you have to drill it out or get a double/triple drilled flange. The best part is you get it to keep it all toyota driveline which is one of the strongest around, and they come with a greasable slip yoke so no more of those annoying squeaks. You can get the 4runner shafts for cheap from a pick n pull, think I paid $40 for mine and then another $150 to get re-tubed and balanced. Here's some shots, as you can see, no loss of driveshaft clearance from the carrier setup

I kept my 2 piece shaft as a trail spare and had the front part shortened 8.5".

Does anybody have a stock 23 spline trans to tcase coupler? I’ve only got a couple of 26 spline, 4-cylinder/manual couplers in the garage. Looks like the picture below but from a non 4-cylinder/manual

I might still have the one I pulled off my stock case. If I can find it I'll let you know.

Are you talking for the shifter base? I just used a 1/4 NPT thread to barbed 90.
