Good deal, I think I will call them again once I have the case in hand and talk it through with them one more time.

Following to see how this goes as a 4spd atlas will be my next case once my toyota stuff throws in the towel.

Here’s what RS did and what I was contemplating with the tail mount, tying it to the tranny crossmember.

I’m going to cut the stock tranny cross off though and tuck it up.

I agree, but better than leaving the tail totally unsupported.

True. Plus it does give it a skid

Although I don’t get why they didn’t just build another crossmember, there is still the issue with this setup of two different mount types. I would do poly to the tranny too and solid or derlin on the frame.

Acting as a skid is about the only thing that looks like it'll do. Looks like it would act as a giant lever on the transmission crossmember and eventually lead to damage.

The more I look at this, the more I want to know how the exhaust gets routed. This just seems like a train wreck

Pulled my rear case today and the splines still look great (The dark spot is dirt from my boot kicking it across the garage floor). Used anti-seize on assembly with 5 years and a bunch of road miles.

Id be temped to add another crossmember at the back of the atlas to support some weight. And the skid.

Not bad!! Some fretting on there but not too much! I wish someone made a longer aftermarket input for these cases for more spline engagement and keep stuff from wobbling around.

I'm thinking of a single crossmember located between the tranny and Tcase, with a mount T'ing off the middle with one arm to the tranny mount and one to the Atlas, attached like the above. Where I can't quite decide is how to mount the whole thing. I think that a solid crossmember between the frame rails and then the T attached to it with poly bushings would be the way to go, but undecided if there needs to be some flex between the piece that attaches the tranny and T case. Thoughts?

I also dig the crossmember he did, bolted through the frame.

thats seems muy bueno and like your idea of a single that T's off. i want to think that any custom crossmember ive seen has had bushings at frame and tcase/tranny mounting points

I think I have a pretty good plan in mind, we will see once I get it mocked up and get a feel for things.

On that note, the Atlas shipped today, 45 days after order (which I was told is significantly longer than normal due to the Black Friday rush of sales)! :headbang: Marlin can out that in their pipe and smoke it, don't know why any of you guys deal with their bullshit.

Got a call from Marlin yesterday morning. They said they got a bunch of inchworm adaptor plates and bearings and gears which are apparently all exactly the same as the ones they normally use in their taco boxes and they wanted to know if I’d accept a unit. They said it’s no different from the others except it won’t be anodized and it will be ready to ship in 3 weeks. They didn’t know how long it would be otherwise so I accepted. No sexy red box for me, I guess. I’ll call it a “Limited Edition”

I placed the order in the first or second week of August which puts delivery right at 28 weeks since I ordered. About 22 weeks behind.

WOW. Did marlin do a limited buyout from TG since LR owned inchworm then was bought out by TG years ago. Hopefully MC gave you a partial refund since those adapter are new but super old stock. lol.

Seemed like MC is going out of business and want to roll out all remaining inventory before calling it quit. Or maybe MC got bought out too by TG and got accessed to TG inventory? Hummmmm, which one is it?
