Just got home from a weekend in South Lake Tahoe. CVC tune performed perfectly towing the 3,500 lb Airstream Basecamp from the SF bay up Hwy 50 to Zepher Cove and back. Almost don’t need to put it in S-Mode it shifts so well in the hills. Averaged 14.5 mpg round trip up the mountain and back on 265/75R16 Goodyear Duratrac tires.

Impressive. I also noticed I didn’t have to use S mode as much either. Only on very steep grades where I wanted to hold 4th gear for extended periods.

I forgot to mention that the transmission shifts a lot faster and smoother than the kdmax. The kdmax tune felt like it would take 2 seconds to downshift 2 gears. CVC tune is way smoother and quicker to downshift

I have a 2020 pro on 33’s roof rack sliders etc. I was averaging 13 to 14 mpg.

Got tuned by Chan 2 weeks ago, awesome guy. Truck is driving way better all around especially on the hills.

drove to LA this passed holiday and mpgs on the way back to the Bay Area I was getting 16mpg against wind. Couldn’t be happier.

    thank you

Just met Chan at a little meet up in Sacramento this afternoon. Very friendly, knowledgeable, chill, and easy to talk to. Only took like 15 minutes and we chatted about tacos and life. He earnestly stands by his tune and even though I'm from Michigan, I know he will not leave me hanging if I need anything after I head back home. Right off the bat I noticed my 3rd gen stopped shifting like a lunatic and it hung gears and shifted when I expected it to finally. I haven't had it out for a long road trip yet, but I am confident it will perform wonderfully. It feels 200 pounds lighter, and finally acts like you expect it to. Don't hesitate, do it.

I have about 3,000 miles on my CVC tune now and it drives like the truck should, smooth and efficient. I had made a earlier post about my mpg going down but that was a lot of around town, short stop/go trips. Last week I went on a longer trip to Bass Lake and I averaged 17.5. Very pleased. Chan is a good dude and has always responded to me quickly when I had a question. Try the tune it’s great!

I’ve been on his tune for a while full skids (steel) camp Gear not to heavy at all. Still stoked on the tune. Question do we ever need a flash or anything?
    Thanks again:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I got cvc tuned about 8 months now, is there a current tune available to reflash?

    All of them.
Been running the CVC tune for about a yeah. Had him tune it when I lived in CA. Recently I moved to Northern New Hampshire. I have a weird harder shifts when the truck is cold. Below 30 degrees and not fully up to temp yet. It's not violent or anything. Just feels like I let off the throttle for a full second or so and then goes again. Soon as I get a bit down the road it goes away. Doesnt do it when it's warmer out tho.

What gas you running? I would try running one octane higher.

I run 93 octane for the tune I have. Anything lower and I get detonation

I thought my truck was acting weird after I took it into the dealership for the free service. Wasn't sure if the dealer flashed something and overwrote the CVC tune. I reached out to Chan and this was his response:
    ----
Two things couldve happened: 1) unplugged battery and that clears DCTs. Tune is still on the truck but some values are cleared and just needs to relearn again. 2) ECU is reset, need to reflash
    ----

I setup time with him and he quickly reflashed me as well. Incredible customer service from answering my questions and then reflashing. I consider myself pretty computer savvy but with a great flash like CVC tune and customer service like he provides, I don't mind supporting him at all versus buying all the equipment myself and flashing it.

I thought with CVC tune you could run any gas you want. I run 87 but he said 87 is fine but 93 is better

    G'day all,
Just recently got the CVC on my 2018 TRD OR. A night and days difference in driving. It "goes" when ya step on the throttle. Shifting is smooth, accurate and quick. A very worth while "mod" for me.
