So debating on going all out and ordering the bags from auto anything with that 20% off coupon and the cradles from Amazon and the axle brackets from etrailer....

Ok, I see what you have. I'd just get the bags and do the dry fit before ordering the legs.

 

I got a 2016 SR 5 Speed 4x4, its got a 3 leaf and overload leaf pack. I had a 2013 SR 5 speed 4x4 with a 2 pack leaf and overload leaf pack with the air bags and it fit perfect without the extensions but im guessing they wont work with the 3 leaf packs......

True, sounds like a plan. Probably just going to remove the bump stops completely so I don't have to cut them. Is that ok to do that with the u bolts?

Absolutely. Don't cut them. Loosen the U bolts and take the bumps out completely.

 

So there is no need to have those little half circle shapes on the bump stops to hold the ubolts in place? Kinda pointless.

 

Those are to keep the bumps in place. Not needed for the U bolts.

 

All ya got to make sure is that the u bolts are square before ya tighten them down correct?

 

Moe, you read thru the whole thread, I suppose? There is more than one way to cut the extensions, you saw both ways?

 

Ya I saw both, I'd probably just cut all 4 holes off and make my own 3 in it!

 

This is true, They will stay where you put them if they are squared up. If not squared up, they may slip a little, which is not bad except they would no longer be torqued down.

 

I'll just make sure the square them up and torque them down to like 100 lbs i believe is the torque on them?

 

I think you would cut off two, not four. Make a cardboard template when you test fit.

 

You want to drill holes for the extension plates before you install the bag kit.
Be for warned it's a bitch to drill in the truck when the kit is already installed.

 

I said torque, but meant tight. You get a feel for the difference between tight and loose after you've been with a few gals.

Ya it would be done before I install the kit for sure!
