Hey guys I have had ride rite airbags on my truck for about a year now and love them. I would really like to get a compressor and control panel. I’m liking the idea of the wireless setup does anyone have rec’s of brand or kit that is budget friendly?

I have an ARB compressor under the hood and just run the hose from that, or use the gas station air.

    FYI

The Firestone in cab system is worthless for tires. I had it on a work truck and had it plumbed with a connector for an inflation hose. $ wasn't worth the convenience of in cab controls, but still needing a gas station to inflate a tire.

Since I have 120V in the bed I keep a hot dog air compressor ($39 Harbor Freight Special) in back for airbag fills, motorcycle tires etc. It doesn't take much - even a bike pump will fill the airbags in short order.

Eventually I'll get a real OBA setup but for now, the HF compressor and a CO2 cylinder for bigger jobs works fine.

Loving this forum. I installed air bags last year to help with the saggy rear when towing small camper. Installing wheelers 3leaf aal this weekend with Bilstein 5100’s and never would have known about the support extension. Luckily I’ve got tons of scrap steel in the shop! Thanks for the knowledge bomb.

I currently have the OME Dakar's and they are great, however the drivers side is sagging roughly an inch lower than the passenger side and it looks terrible. Im thinking about getting the RideRite's with daystar cradles and then removing a few leafs from the Dakar packs to essentially have the leafs position the axle but have the rear riding on air. This would make hooking up to a trailer easier because I could just empty the bags as I back up to drop the ball under the trailer. I'm just thinking out loud here so can anyone chime in on this idea.

Leave the Dakars as they sit and add air bags and cradles. Use a touch more air on the driver side to even out the lean. Use the jack on the trailer to go up over the ball. It's faster and less hassle than using air to go under, and then having to raise the foot of the jack anyway. You're over thinking it a little.

I love my Dakar + air bag and cradle setup. I have the Dakar HD pack.

So I installed mine before reading this thread ... on a stock 2017 OR there is about 1/2" gap between the lower bracket and the axle (extensions ordered). Are there precautions that need to be taken to prevent ruining the air bags or can I cruise around for next few days with the gap between the axle? Thanks

Run the bags at a low pressure, like 5 -10 psi to put as little pressure on the bracket as possible.

Making your own by just welding on a couple pieces of scrap is the best way to go.

I had about a 1/4 in gap on the Taco Pro....cut a strip from an old Bed Mat and put in the gap before tightening it down. Been working fine for going on 4 years now. On mine, one side fit tight and one side had the gap. Firestone was "clueless" back then, said to run it as is...yeah right!

Your difference between sides makes no sense at all. What kind of answer did you expect from Firestone?

Got my aal, cradles, and bracket fixed up. Finally... I rode around at least a year with the 1/4 gap.

Lots of dollars and no sense...
Not to get too far off topic. I'm looking to replace my rear shocks when I put on my bags, are 5100's the way to go? I'm looking for middle of the road on price comfort durability.
