That worked, but my gf ended up taking the pics anyways. Sorry, I was in a rush... ended up doing it right before the game and I was a little late .

I forgot to take pictures before/after from the rear-view cam, and seemingly she forgot the side-by-side (I swear she took pics of one new bulb & one old...)

Bleh. I'll take moar tomorrow from inside the truck/rear view cam/etc.

So these things are BRIGHT! They go quite a distance too. If there's anything negative I can say about 'em it'd be they almost go too far - wish I could point 'em down and throw more light up closer! It's not like the stock bulbs lit up close better, I'm just amazed at how much light these throw out. I need to do rock lights at some point anyways .

They really do throw out quite a bit more light - it's quite a bit more focused, even with the 'blurriness' of the lens.

Read this thread if you want to know how to remove the tail lights (really good how-to, might want to put it in the first post). You really do have to pull quite hard to pop them out. Note, there are three bolts on each side but you only need to remove the top & bottom bolts like that post states.

Let me know if you guys want anything specific for pics. I know, I'll take some of the rear cam... not sure how well those will turn out, but I'll do my best.

 

Awesome post man! But that is right in front of the garage door so the light has no chance to spread If you can get some pics of you looking behind the truck in lets say a dark parking lot or driveway, then people can see the major improvement Either way, thanks for the pics!

^ wow they are bright... maybe you can rig up a tiny metal or mirror to act as a shield to aim it down a bit?? just an idea for a cheap mod HAH

 

Maybe TRS can do a reverse light bixenon projector for the taco crowd so it suits these reverse bulbs

 

Yea, I had this grand idea of taking like 20 different pics, of all the angles, of the install, etc... Then I ended up just cramming it out as fast as I could lol. D'oh... I'll get moar detailed shots tomorrow night!

And the most expensive reverse lights ever! Someone did actually cram HID's into the reverse lights but I think you'd be better off adding some aux. lighting if you really wanted that much light behind you

Are the reverse lenses the same from 05-12? I know in 09 they changed to LED brake lights.

I still want to see daytime shots from behind the truck a little ways. Wanna make sure people are gonna be able to see that I have my reverse lights on during the daytime.

Hrm, daytime shots? I can do that. I was going to do more nighttime shots tonight, if there's still daylight out when I'm home I can do that... but I think it gets dark too early now .

I can probably take the daytime shots Wednesday if worse comes to worse. I'm at work now, no nice camera to take shots with here...
