I was a huge TNG fan growing up. Also watched the original series as well as DS9 and Voyager . Never watched Enterprise. Have all the movies, still have mixed feelings on the new ones. Love the special effects, but can't seem to get into the plots, and the actors are . . . I don't know . . . kinda overly dramatic? Maybe being too critical.

O.K. Now I'm going to show off my A.R. qualities. Trek fans prefer to be called "Trekkers", NOT "Trekkies". Too much like groupies.
Favorite episode? From the sheer technical aspect, it would have to be "Trials and Tribbleations" from D.S.9. The sheer work used to insert the D.S.9 crew into "The Trouble with Tribbles" TOTALLY SEAMLESSLY is amazing!
And, by the way, my group name is even a D.S.9 reference. "Skrain" was Gul Dukat's first name.

I suspect, from news I have heard from other sources over the last few months that the new Abrams Universe Star Trek Movie, "Star Trek Beyond" is going to be the last one. Karl Urban and Zachary Quinto only signed up for two films, and had to be persuaded to come back for the third one. With the death of Anton Yenchin, I highly doubt there will be a 4th movie.

    Enjoy some fun; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVoDnGVkWCA

I'll fly the nerd flag. I have every episode of every ST series on my home NAS. Just got done watching all the TNG episodes over the last few months. Going to start on DS9 now.

Saw "Star Trek Beyond" the other day, and loved it.
A couple of very poignant moments in it when they tacitly acknowledge the death of Leonard Nimoy, as well as the end title card dedicating the movie to him, as well as one saying simply "For Anton"

I really liked TNG, and DS9. I watched a few episodes of Voyager and it was "okay" but didn't have the same appeal to me.

Yes, Wesley Crusher was a douche, hated his character. Didn't like Kira on DS9 either, she was too whiney.

Never got into the newer show Enterprise though.. couldn't get over Scott Bacula as Captain Archer... I kept thinking he was going to ask "Al" or "ziggy" for help.

I was a TNG fan watched the whole series many times over. Who didn't drool over 7 of 9? Couldn't really watch the entire show but would tune in for her. Anybody with the name of Wesley has got to be a douche. Name a Cool character named Wesley. Character not Actor Wesley Snipes is good.

I was the other way on this movie. Loved the small things you mentioned.

I really hated the fact that....

The enterprise was destroyed in the first 15 minutes and you never see it again. That's one of the best parts of Star Trek IMO and it really bummed me out that it was just over that fast.

I did like the fact they showed Sulu with his partner and daughter. That was an interesting take on it. The death of Spock was done well. All around good graphics/cgi. I wouldn't watch it again or buy it.

Actually named after Eugene Wesley Roddenberry, by the way. A.K.A. Gene Roddenberry, the Great Bird of the Galaxy.

okay his character was still a douchebag, no matter who he was named after. You can be named after Chuck Norris and still be a douche.

I was in HS when 7 of 9 made her debut... definitely liked her character arc after a few episodes. I always liked the Borg, but didn't like the story of that alien race the Borg were running from (I forget the name).

I would really like to see an origin story of the Borg, they could easily do something in the Delta quadrant and show their evolution, etc.

Oh, and the Jem Hadar (sp) were freaking awesome as well! Loved it when Worf came onto DS9, he has always been my favorite character.

Favorite episode of TNG was that one where Picard played that flute thing, can't think of the episode name to save my life though.

    Species _____
It was a number, since all of the species the Borg ever encountered/assimilated were just assigned a number, but I don't remember what number it was exactly. 87-something, I think.

    The Apex of biological evolution.
The Borg initiated contact in an attempt to assimilate them however their biological makeup was far to complex for the assimilation nano-probes to be effective.
The Voyager EMH was able to synthesize a viral agent to use as a weapon against them.
Voyager eventually was able to reach a cease-fire agreement with them in following episodes.

    Yeah - I'm a fucking Voyager geek.
