All I've seen about "Discovery" is that it's between "Enterprise" and "TOS" in the timeline.

Just got the entire 4 season box set of "Enterprise" and I'm working my way through it. It's a LOT better then the critics gave it credit for, in my opinion. Yeah, I could do without the sappy theme song, but that's what fast forward is for. It's fun looking for all the subtle little references and hints of where future stories and Starfleet policies come from.

I was browsing around online and found someone selling the 4 season bluray box set for $15 and I bought it. I just haven't had the nerve to watch it yet because of the reviews.

Yes, the two-Part "Mirror Universe" episodes put the "Ho" in Hoshi...

I have watched TNG and DS9 all the way through probably a dozen times each. Notwithstanding that the first two seasons were weak, DS9 holds up so well as a super long story I enjoy rewatching it more (I have terrible insomnia and only sleep 4.5 hours a night anyway so I watch a lot of TV late at night). Voyager and enterprise a couple times -- not a huge fan of either, all of the movies a few times (except beyond -- waiting for it to come to cable), with generations being my favorite (the cinematography was excellent and who wouldn't want to chill out in the nexus).

I never could finish Voyager. I tried but by the last season it just got so dull to me. I do like 7 of 9 however.

Seemed like they were running out of ideas for Voyager. Like that one where they turned into creatures for exceeding warp 10. Worst star trek episode ever.

Edit: There was an episode in season 1or 2 of TNG where they exceeded warp 13 with no issues.

Edit 2: If I remember correctly, the enterprise was modified with a 3rd nacelle in the final episode, making it capable of warp 13.

Just saw this thread; I'm so old that I used to watch the original; on Friday nights (another of my favorites on Friday night was "The Wild Wild West"; great night for TV as a youth).

At the end of most episodes Captain Kirk would instruct the crew to leave orbit- with a wry smile on his face after bagging some space skirt:

I used to watch the original with my grandparents (reruns), and LOVED watching the Wild Wild West as a kid, reruns as well.

I found a Star Trek Nemesis coin while I was cleaning. Not even sure where I got it from.

The original Star Trek films are still my favorites. TNG was, hands down, the best series. Some truly creative, memorable, ingenious, funny, and emotional episodes during it's run. The casting and chemistry between characters was almost as good as Kirk, Spock, and Bones...almost. TNG films, on the other hand, just felt like extended length episodes though...never translated to the big screen well. I miss Trek and I'm not hopeful about his new series that's been in the works.

I know I'm probably in the minority but I've enjoyed the recent Trek films and I can't wait for the next one.

I have mixed feelings about the new series. You read some things that indicate it'll have that feel of TNG/DS9/Voyager, then other things that sound like it's going to be like a TV-version of the JJ movies. Already being delayed (at least) three times from "we don't know when" to Jan '17 to Apr '17 to "Fall" '17 does not bode well. Their explanations so far sound like like they keep trying to not spend any money and make it "cool" (per the "cool" standards of some clueless CBS executives), but the screen tests keep bombing so they push it back and try it all over again.

Also, for those who liked TOS, go check out Star Trek Continues. It picks up where season 3 leaves off. Takes a little getting used to the new actors (especially Spock), but definitely worth checking out. Their latest released episode is getting some serious raves.
