I wanted the softopper brand initially since they offer tan. Ended up getting the bestop though. I like having more visibility with the windows out.

do you really get that much more visibility out of the rear few mirror? i look over my shoulder and out the passenger read door window to see if i see a car next to me.

I don’t really see much over the sides of the bed, maybe it has to do with having a DCSB VS the AC and the long bed.

That maybe true about the DC vs the AC. I just figured the softopper would be more like driving a box truck, without the sides being open. I don't like to rely on my side mirrors much. I saw a softopper on craigslist the other day. He was in Chattanooga I think and asking $500.

I saw that as well... But it's tan and its for an AC... No love for the DC guys...

yeah idk, it’s just a thought. i think the rear corners and the back window by tail gate is what would black my vision the most, and not the sides. also could be how i sit, and have my mirrors set. I don’t hardly ever see any trucks with them around the knox area. i know one member named ryan had one on his silver AC and he was in the knox area, but he has not been on in a while so idk if he even has his truck anymore.

I will keep an eye out for one for you.

Anyone know of a good camping spot in this area? I went out to Loyston Point on Norris Lake last week and tried out the Bestop. It worked fine but the campsite sucked. It was just a big circle with parking pads right beside each other. Looking for something more spread out.

yeah if you looking for night thing. royal blue WMA is off exit, 141 on 75. not bad they have some jeep trails as well. i have taken my truck down some. and me, gid and kurt all camped and shit early summer. let me know when you plain on going i may go as well. you will need a permit to go on the management area. idk what all they have i know they have day passes and yearly. also a hunting and fishing license with a small game or big game with WMA permit and you are good to go from may 1st till last day in feb and it’s cheaper then the WMA permit. you can get it at any wal mart, i think the day passes have to be bought the day you go, but idk if they are good for 34h from the time you get it or the actual day. i’ll ask dad and see.

for off roading most is easy, i have been down a few trails i know one of the trails is really washed out and rutted right now i was up their in the rhino last sat, and would not do it right now with out a lift, the mile or 2 of the trail i was on was pretty bad.

edit: also i would be kinda careful out by loyston point, people go out their to get drunk and do drugs. also their is other areas along norris lake that i would be carful about.

I will look into it. I hunted there when I was a younger, but never camped. The few trails I remember were pretty rough. It beat the hell out of my ranger. Can't do anything too crazy yet. My taco barely has 500 miles on it. The wife would kill me.

yeah, some of them get bad, then they take a dozer to them. most the easy jeep/truck trails you can do in 2WD. i got up their quite a bit with my truck and no damage other then a few scratches. we could stay on the more open trails.

I’m going to try squirrel hunting up there this year, usually go to chuck swan in union county, but did not have good luck at all.

Howdy from Chattanooga. Just got my 2013 silver access cab sport taco. Less than two thousand miles on it, and i got backed into, very minor scratched the trd sticker, niece threw up in the cab and girlfriend backed into a parked car.... twice. It is a SPORT model so it does have a backup camera!! Good excuse to pick up an armored bumper i guess.
