Yep. Strong sidewalls, good tread pattern for various off-road use, seem to do great on road, good life wear, not a heavy tire, .......... That was my #2 behind KM2s

So, a couple of questions related.

I know it has been stated that stockers can have a good time here. But, are there going to be any or is this a hardcore party in the vein of Windrock.

second, assuming i am somehow able to attend, what is the most important purchase for the trip that is affordable? some recovery gear I assume? recovery strap, receiver hitch w/ D ring?

I wouldnt worry about all that. we all have recovery gear. A good cold weather tent and sleeping bad would be my most important thought as it is cold and I mean very cold at night being on the water.

 

Tires ordered for both vehicles. My bank account hates me now.

We had a guy come 2 years ago, Tim, in a completely stock truck just like yours. It's the red one in the pics from the first trip. He had a blast and drove the whole trip. It was wet as fuck that trip too and he didn't miss a beat. As Kurt knows quite well, there are bypasses on many trails and branches of trails that go different ways then meet back up. There are trails that I'm completely in lazy, cruise mode on and there are trails that I "won't" try because smashing a body panel and possibly flipping will happen. It is truly a park for everyone.

I actually agree with this on this trip. You should ALWAYS have your own recovery gear. Relying on other people is cool as long as those other people are around and you trust them and their equipment but if you have your own stuff then no worries. If there was 1 mod to have for this park specifically, I would say good off-road tires. If it's dry, it's not bad, but even when its been dry, it's been pretty wet. But for something cheap for your truck, front and rear recovery points are very important. The front has a d ring already but the back has nothing. Something cheap and good is what Mike spent his "cheap mod" money on last year, a receiver hitch with a shackle. Besides that, do what Adam said and spend your money on stuff to keep you warm at night and all the good food and drinks you want to consume over the weekend.

They are kind of color matched right now. I'm saving for new tires now and when they go on the rings will get painted

 

What? How does this make sense? You just had them off and painting them and instead of doing it now you assembled them just to wait till you get new tires? You make zero sense sometimes.

 

Justin my old D ring shackle is laying around here somewhere. You can have it. Just remind me next time we meet up. Hell I'll just throw it in the tool box that way it's there

I should say they are going to be painted a different color because I don't really like the color match...
