I was fuckin around tonight and ghetto rigged a custom shift knob. It's the bottom piece of a lightsaber i built at disney to fight with my nephews. Not sure if i like it, just wanted to try something different. Tell me you guys think it looks like shit. Sorry for the shitty cell phone pics.

    Weird things are happening...

I dream, a lot, like every night. Last night I dreamed that I got transferred from where I work now to the lake that is 6 min. from my home. With no need for a commuter, I sold my jetta for 7k and spent every dime of it on the truck. Armor, lockers, shell, upgraded suspension, every worthless gadget I could afford. Then my wife got pissed that I spent it all on the truck and divorced me.

This morning I came into work, and have an email notifying me of a vacancy at said lake. Freaky, right? Ya'll pray for my marriage.

Anyone in Nashville experience with wiring? I would love to install some LED's in my bed, but have the fear of destroying something and making it worse (based on previous experiences).

Any feedback or help would be greatly appreciated.

Beers could be provided if anyone wants to help =)

Crap, just realized you have a 3rd gen, so probably not helpful. What ideas do you have for LEDs in the bed?

    No worries!

    I have a few ideas.

looks like these kits are being sold on the the thred for $80 - good price?

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fs-waterproof-under-bed-rail-led-lights-3rd-gen.391380/

also, you can buy some strips on Amazon as well - https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_...ps&field-keywords=waterproof+led+light+strips

again, not very confident in my install ability....

I'm not a fan of the strips simply because they attach with adhesive that I feel is going to degrade over time. That's why I went with the pods that I linked too. Depending on how the bed is laid out on a third gen, they might be able to work. I'm just not familiar with the third gen bed. Do you want them on a separate switch, or on with the dome light?

that makes sense, but I would think with my topper, hopfully that will make the adhesive last longer than being exposed. and adhesive is cheap and replaceable - just my thoughts.

those pods are sweet! and a good price and genuine.. which i like

i am not familiar with the bed and how it compares to the other 2nd Gens.

separate switch in the bed would be my preference.
