I see guys out west posting pics all the time of their off-road excursions where they just park somewhere and do some target shooting. Is there anywhere in the Central Florida area where that can be done that's safe and legal?

I would post this in the Florida BS thread, starting a new thread doesn't really get seen as much

I live in the central Florida area, I haven't seen too many places that's open to the public. I may go exploring a bit near St. Cloud around Kissimmee chain of lakes next weekend.

I hate shooting indoors (too loud, too many idiots, only long enough for pistols) and the only outdoor range I know if is the one out near Titusville, it's private, but open to the public in the mornings on the weekends.

Id', like to have a place to go where it's a bit more secluded, so if I get the urge to dump a mag, I don't get angry looks from a range master....

I know, Triple N Ranch WMA is out near there, looks like they are planning to build a shooting range. Not sure if it has been built yet

Yea I completely agree with indoor ranges. When I got out there next weekend I'll let you know what I find.

Ya... that's kinda something the guys out West have on us... Can't just drive out of town into the desert and shoot/blow things up :spy:

I strongly encourage anyone to "leave no trace" and pick up all spent shell casings and any debris from anything blown up/shot. More and more private property is being posted due to trash, debris, etc. We need to be responsible gun owners and not give the anti crowd any reason to further attack us.

I was just checking that out on google maps. Looks like a pretty decent range. I wonder how crowded it is on the weekends.

I was really hoping for a place secluded out in the woods somewhere. I like a little adventure, so a little bit of an off-roading trek to get there would be nice, that's half the fun!

I don't go to ranges either. They have too many rules and cost money. I usually shoot on my uncle's farm. Shooting outdoors is so much fun. I can rapid fire and shoot steel targets instead of paper.

That's a given, sir. I always clean up after myself no matter what type of outdoor activity I participate in.

Breaks my when I'm out fishing and I see gobs of fishing line, and other garbage in the water.

Unfortunately - I see way too much of this up here in Maine.
