sad news. i believe the starter to have sh*t the bed and has a small air leak somewhere. It threw a complete fit leaving school coughing and stuttering making all kinda noise. The truck wasn't happy at all and wouldn't turn off because it kept trying to turn over even when the truck was on so when you turned it off it would just kick back on. Engine was on track to grenading itself but was able to wrestle the battery off to finally get it to shut off. Got a tow back to the house and will see which direction to head in. Guess i can finally get some work done to it since its stuck sitting lol

Oh that poor lil' 24 year old 2.4:( so much beatdown and still expected to be a DD:p kids
but I wonder why they used the 2.4 in an extra cab? Didn't they have the 2.7 yet?

yea the 2.4 has been a champ!!! Before the tires were put on it could pin 110 mph on the highway going down a hill and now with the tires it takes a lot of work just to break 70 lol not powerful enough to ever get myself in trouble but i have definitely out-grown it and want something stronger. My dad bought the truck brand new in 95 and managed to by the cheapest base model option of them all and i forever give him a hard time for not getting a 4wd but it is what it is. I could never find parts or anything ever for this truck since it was basically so forgotten about so i consider it a unicorn truck. "The little taco that couldn't"

*Also something to note, after putting the tires on 5th gear has become nonexistant, it just bogs on the highway and i have to stay in 4th, not helping my gas mileage

its a 5speed but i know i need it bad. Build has been on a budget and im new to all this so definitely something ill start looking into

when i say i cant find parts i mean nobody makes a lift for my truck so far as suspension goes i cant find anything. I have not dove into drivetrain parts as i kept engine and everything stock. i plan on going big and looking at doing a SAS and redoing everything from scratch but thats time, money, and knowledge i dont have yet. i understand thats a very big project to get into looking at other peoples swaps on this forum

Tore into truck, going to replace the positive battery connection piece thingy as it was overly corroded and just completely rusted through. It could potentially be part of the problem and i know i could just set it in coke to clean it but $4 for a new one why not. Also going to give the starter a few hits with a hammer and see if it will start acting right today

    update:
Truck now starts right up i replaced the connection end piece and hit the starter with a hammer. Now i have an air leak to find :) i know my engine bay is screaming for a clean i need to replace all the old dried out rubber hoses one of these days and give it a good scrub down

okay here are some more pics of my flag pole set up, don't know what the bolts are called but i drilled through the top inner lip of my bed through the bed liner. Then placed a nut on each side and tightened it down. The bottom one is only in the bedliner so i drilled a hole in the bottom of it to help keep it stable. Works amazing, i actually snapped one of my previous flag poles and to this day i still have no idea how. Bought a cheap $4 flag off Amazon and has held up way better than expected but i need to buy a double stitched flag which is heavier and better quality. Got everything from home depot and was all under $15-$20. Theres a million ways to make a flag pole mount my friend idolized a pvc pipe and u-bolts so its whatever works best for your situation. Only issue i have had is when i ride around with stuff in the back not tied down it tends to hit the bolts i have in now and bend them a little bit but they hold up fine.

Thought I would add my 1995 Tacoma Extra Cab SR5 4x4 5 speed manual. Bought in 1998. Started upgrading in 2017.
ARB front bumper w/Smittybilt 9500 winch.
    Rock Sliders.
3" front & 1.5" rear lift with Bilstein shocks.
    A work in progress.
    Love this truck.
