So I test drove a 1500 Classic and it had very slight pedal and steering wheel vibration. My Tacoma got me so paranoid that I just couldn't buy it. Everything else was amazing on that truck and a hell of a deal. I test drove 4 of them and they all had the vibration. The new design didn't however but was out of my price range.

This is the ONLY remaining issue that still plagues my truck. Hands go slightly numb after about 15 min.
and the same vibe exists in the pedals & floor board. At this point I've just learned to deal with it, hate to
say that but it's either that or trade it in - just can't imagine going on an hour+++ trip and having this.

My tacoma was so bad, I could actually see my entire leg shaking while driving on the highway. I finally had enough and traded it in for a new 4runner TRD OR. Freaking love this thing.

that's awesome man, heard they're very nice. My last 4R was a 2000 and it was nice
but not a pickup...I don't require one but I can't seem to get something else and not
go right back to a p/u soon after.

I haven't seen anyone find a proper issue for this weird vibe.

Corporate got back to me. Unsurprisingly, I was told the shakiness of the rear end is a characteristic of the vehicle, and they aren't going to do anything.

Dealerships are throwing random shit at the trucks hoping something will stick. When all else fails they tell you to take a hike and that the shakes are a feature :)

Is it just between these speeds? I have a vibration between 45 to 60 but don’t feel it in the steering wheel, so I don’t believe it’s the tires being out of balance. Truck is leveled with OME 887 and 5100s.

My question is, what’s the worst that happens to the truck if I don’t get this fixed again? Drums suddenly go to shit and cannot brake properly? I simply don’t want to go through the whole thing again. Counting down the months til lease end...21 to go...

Dammit, hate reading this, they changed my drums Friday. The feel is less vibration but it's still noticeable.
Don't wanna count the days until a lease is done, wanted to buy it afterwards but maybe it's best I leased it. I leased it because I was scared of the 3.5, that motor seems solid, not sure about some of these things though..
Toyota cannot be total crap, bought my wife '16 Prius last weekend & I've been loving driving it, one of the best vehicles I've ever purchased, driving wise so far!

I just picked up my 2018 sr5 from my dealer , they just did the leaf spring and steering damper tsb which they now have extended to include 18s and 19s but not all models . This was the original tsb released in 2016 , toyota just announced at the end of May that it was being carried into the newer trucks . I don’t have the tab number handy but I saw the printout when I was at the shop , it def helped my decel vibration significantly . I’m sorry I don’t have the vin info for models covered but my sr5 dbl cab 2018 was within the range and it helped a lot .

I have a 2019 trd off road 4x2 with the vibration when slowing down from 30 to 0 mph, took it to the dealer, they found that the tsb applied to my car, they where going to replace axles and then an engineer from toyota showed up to test drove vehicle and they said that it doesn't make sense to do it because is not going to fix the problem, They told me to wait until another tsb comes out with a fix.

The axle replacement and drum resurfacing didn’t do much of anything for mine but the leaf spring replacement tsb that was just extended to include 18 and 19 model years helped with the decel vibes at 20 quite a bit . I can def live with it now

Good luck. I'm 3/3 in getting them to do repairs, 0/3 in resolution.

Sorry to butt in. I may be a 3rd gen owner in the future.

Im just looking a the consensus of these 3rd gen issues. Are u guys having multiple issues or just one?

Kinda makin me nervous to pull the trigger someday. Im hoping this isnt the majority of 3rd gens.
