This thread would be better placed in a regional forum where people in your area might be able to help.

...but at least adding a city or even a state would help.

There's a ton down there, but you're going to need to get out of the city, lol...

Also, just pick up some National Forest MVUMs (motor vehicle use maps). They're great maps. You can also get an ap like Avenza and download a bunch of free MVUMs that are GeoPDFs. An app like Backcountry Navigator also has FS maps (included) that are great.

Just find some forest roads and go get dirty. If something get's too technical for your taste, you can always just turn around.

Going with friends or a group is obviously preferred (safety in numbers), but if you do go alone, 100% make a plan, stick to it, and tell someone when to start looking for you if you don't show up.

Oh, and I just saw that you're a 2wd, so that's going to knock out any of the more technical OHV trails. But most forest roads are more than suitable. Agian, if it gets too technical, just turn around and find another route.

    Glad to help!

Here's another one I forgot about. I have the Nor Cal version of this book, and it's great.

This seems a bit pricey, I'm sure you can get it for cheaper.
