Just installed a black one in mine tonight thanks to this thread! I just drilled out the top hole in the bracket so a M8x1.25 bolt would go through it and bolted it to one of the holes meant for the clutch reservoir since mine is auto. I cut a small piece of the hose I got to use as a spacer/shock mount to space it away from the fender a tad. Worked great, thanks guys!

    Did this over the weekend...

I won't need to add the pot scubber, the inlet already had a multi baffle set up.

Have you got your hoses crossed? Should go from PCV to inlet side.

It is, but because of the position, it's hard to see the hose. I have it running from PCV valve to inlet, then outlet to air intake plenum.

    Some stuff...
First oil change today with the catch can (9,987 on the ODO, 5,000 since the last oil change and catch can install). Catch can prevented about an inch and a half of oil from recycling back through the intake! :woot:

Dunno if it's due to a new motor (>10K miles), or because of the catch can but my oil was a lot cleaner than normal this change. More like transparent maple syrup versus black nasty tar consistency of most oil - time will tell.

Also hit all the zerks with the grease gun (u-joints, ICON UCAs, etc.) and shot some lithium lube on. Rig's ready for wheelin in the mountains this weekend! :broccoli:

I know the feeling. I had to use a 1/4" drive long extension with a universal joint (or whatever you call them) to tighten the hose clamp. PITA.

You really dont have to empty it regularly. Maybe twice an oil change

In the warmer months I don't really have to empty it at all. During the colder months I have to empty it about twice per oil change from all the condensation build up.

I ordered the ADD Rev2 from Newegg, $58 shipped free, just couldn't resist. And it's red. It is destined for my 08 4R but presently going on my 99 3.4 to test a hunch. That story will be in the 1st gen section.

    Little Design Flaw
Somewhere in the many threads on this subject there was some talk about vacuum leaking at the canister o-ring. I put a vacuum pump/gage on mine and tightened the canister to different degrees. Sure enough it did not take much to apparently displace the o-ring and cause a leak.
Next I put the o-ring on the outside of the canister. It's not really "captive" in either position like it should be but I felt that stretching it out that little extra bit would help keep it from moving. This was significantly better but still leaked in the middle of "hand tight".
The final solution was a thinner o-ring used on the outside of the canister.
A #73, 2-3/16 X 2-3/32 o-ring did the trick and withstood all but the highest degree of "hand tight" with no leaking.

I put mine to the left of the radiator while looking from in front of grille because I had my aux fuse box on the driverside behind fuse box and not enough space by right side of radiator.
