    Just got back to TW. From the pcv valve to the can, and from the can to the intake where the pcv valve used to tie in. I found getting to the pcv valve required a blood sacrifice. A skinny arm is a good thing for this project.

    Other than ensuring the hose connections are snug, it's stupid for any smog technician worth his @$$ to fuss over an oil catch can. No, it is not factory stock... it is an improvement!

    Catching oil is better for emissions than burning oil in the engine, right? And the cats will function better, yes?

    I want to do the oil catch can mod (one of my first did it on his Lexus i6 engine and it works flawlessly) but I have a question. With a V6 engine, wouldn't you need 2 catch can? or 2 lines running in and 2 out of the can, one for each head of the engine? Thanks

    I agree, 1 catch can. If you were to run a line to passanger side of head it would be to long of a run and the junk would never make it to can. I dont believe there are 2 egr valves either.

    So, this is applicable to most modern gas engines....

    I was thinking, what if the bottom of the catch can had some sort of valve that let the oil drain back into the crankcase after the engine is shut off? Could potentially be as simple as a check valve on a third line drilled/tapped into the upper oil pan? I was just thinking that building a maintenance free system would be a fun project.

    Now, some of you post milk shakes when you have drained the oil. I suspect this is due to condensation inside the can over months of driving.

    So if you were to drain this milky condensation filled oil back into oil pan, wouldnt that do more harm circulating oil back in engine?
    Personally I think I will take the time and drain the catch can.

    manufacturers have accumulators which do send the oil back into the pan. My '97 BMW does even. For example.

    I think with would be so little over such a long period of time, it would evaporate out like moisture in the crankcase already does.

    @GT7 , would you be so kind to take additional photos of your setup. Your SC LTR resevoir is in the same place as mine, and how/where you mounted your catch can is how I would like to do it. Where did you get your bracket? (Or did you make it, if so how?) where is the bracket anchored too?

    No pics for awhile, I am living in arizona but the truck is in Alberta.

    I made it, look where the bracket leads, there is two bolts, and I used them

    I got a piece if steel from home depot, measured the lengths i wanted and cut, welded, drilled holes for the bolts and painted.

    It may have already covered but what do you guys do with the "gunk"?

    As in, a responsible person wouldn't throw it in the trash, sooooo... Where do you take it? AutoZone? What do you put it in?

    I'm really curious because this is on my "to-do" list but I don't want to end up hoarding a bunch of gross used oil in my garage.
