oil change?

    i'm planning to change my oil but i have no idea how much it consume. been googling and mostly everyone recomending 5.5 quarts, i just wanted to make sure b/c i dont have a manual.. btw i have a 2002 5vz-fe 4x4.

    I had a '99 Xtra Cab PreRunner SR5 V6
    It's supposed to take 5.5 quarts.

    I always put 6qts. in with filter change. This puts the level at the full mark on the dip-stick (after starting then shut off to check). It may be just a tiny bit over the full mark, but I`ve done it this way since new, 140k now.

    thanks guys. and btw would you recommend synthec or normal conventional oil? i heard synthectic causes oil leak on 5vz-fe.

    I have used Mobil 1 5w-30 since 4k mi. and dont have any leaks. The dealer / service writer told me the same thing about leaks when it gets high miles (hog wash I say).I chose to go with a synthetic only because it gets pretty cold here in Nebraska and synthetics have a definate advantage or conv. oils in cold weather.Either way if you change like recommended you`ll be ok.
