Been needing an oil change, about 1,000 over the 3k mark. So i stopped by auto zone to grab a filter, and I was gonna go to the oil change place tomorrow. Well auto zone was having a sale on valvoline full sythetic, and a free fram oil filter. So I jumped on it, for 23 bucks. Now my questions...

    1. Is it safe to run synthetic after running regular oil for its entire 72,000 mile life?

    2. Oil changer interval?

Yes, it's safe but you shouldn't go back to regular oil. Also, don't bother with that Fram filter. Go buy an OEM filter at the dealer. Less than $6.

You can switch back and forth all you want, heck you can even mix conventional and synthetic if you want. It will not hurt anything.

Please DO NOT USE THE FRAM FILTER!!! THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!! And yes, perfectly safe to switch.
