I have to say i like tacomas alot, but after 100,000 prepare to spend some money our purchase a mech tool set cause u will be busy. I have a ton of oil leaks, but recently i have heard like a a rattle sound after accelerating then this kinda of metal\rattle sounding like it is rear end. Got under truck noticed all the shavings, does the 2000 tacoma 2wheel drive trd take any kinda of fluid up front in the front end?

Op are you trolling er something??

Your peerunner definitely dosent have a "front end" cv's or a fill plug anywhere in that area...
As for the 100000 mile comment, yeah thats prolly true if the poor ole gal hasnt been taken care of with diligent preventative maintenance. On all three of my yotas I've got well over 100k but under 200k and the most expensive thing that has occurred besides my own doings, like mods for example, was a steering rack...

No not trolling, just dont know alot about mech, what could explain all the fine metal shavings and fluid,it looks like trans fluid not srue, all over the top of skid plate.

Dude, you're clearly above your skill, find a mechanic or a handy friend. Be ready to learn and good luck.

For shavings your looking at a moving part. Are they fine shavings or could it be chunks of your ac condenser falling off.

What side of the skid plate? Did you open the hood and look for fluid/obviously broken parts/dead animals/ect?

My guess is you have oil left over from an oil change and your idler pulley is wasted.

Just a new guy guessing, but I'm sorting out the same problem on a 1999 PreRunner right now. The "CV boot" is probably the bellows over the inner tie rod. The "oil" is likely power steering fluid. You've blown a seal on the power steering rack.
