Anyone have a favorite oil filter wrench for 2.7? I think a socket style would be ideal, but the chintzy stamped steel one I have always pops off. I used my trusty Lisle this time, but it's a bit of a pain to get up in there and find room to maneuver.

You're over tightening if you need a wrench to remove. Should be able to remove by hand.

Not even gonna lie, I got frustrated changing my oil filter one time after I had a shop do it and they overtightened it bad, I went out and bought this shameful thing:

I'm not proud of it, but boy does it work. The teeth grip and you can even do a ratcheting motion at the awkward angle needed if you're changing it without jacking up the truck. Usually results in a very destroyed oil filter and a small mess, but I haven't ever had to argue with an old oil filter ever again...

I bought one from a dealership 10 years ago and use it every oil change. Even though I tighten by hand, the filter always seems to get even tighter between oil changes, so the wrench is used for removal-only.
