I've heard of other "car sharing" schemes. There's no way I'd do that in the Metro DC area.

I've heard of people renting exotic cars for a day, never an overland rig though...

 

Interesting concept

 

A lot of Europeans would rent those visiting the US over the summer months, renting “Camping Carivans” is a big business over there and a great way to see Iceland, Scandinavia and mainland Europe.

Ok, from PacificOverlander’s page, who knows where this was taken?? It’s not Mono Lake or any where I recognize on the east side of the Sierra, or even in North America. Anyone? My guess is South America - like Peru, Chile or Patagonia? I really want to see this place if it’s as open as it looks in the photo!

Look up "TURO" you can rent out your car. Its kind of a Uber for car rental.

No, this is not going to be a thing for me. My truck isn’t a novelty for some mustachioed vegan to drive out and pretend he knows how to split wood in front of his girlfriend who happens to be a glass blower and insists on telling everyone about her experiences in Morocco.
