Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
Its not much a difference, but the higher you go, the more strain on the CVs because of the increased angle. I would recomend SPC light racing UCAs, i think there is even a group buy going on right now and you can get them for $355 shipped from headstrong offroad.

    Working on it
New here, and I have some pretty specific questions regarding some upcoming changes to my truck.

I have an ARB bumper sitting in the basement waiting to be put on after I get the front end repaired from an argument with a whitetail. What I'm wondering is this:

When I put the bumper on, will I still be able to clear 265/75 r16s without rubbing? Probably going to go with duratracs to get rid of the junk factory tires. Will I still clear when I add a winch to that weight (12000lb warn probably). Now on to the questions more directly related to this thread:

If either answer was no, if I go with 886's over OME90000s in the front, no spacers, with AALs in the rear, will I:

A: regain tire clearance? (Disregard if clearance won't be an issue either way)
B: still require new UCAs even with all the added weight?

I recently came across some money and decided to look into a lift. I've been studying this thread, but I can't find an answer to my problem. I am really liking the OME 884 complete lift, but will I lose the lift if I was to put a front bumper with a 9000lb winch on the truck. I currently have about 175 lbs of bumper/winch weight and my truck is about 1-2 inches lower in the front. I am wondering if these OME shocks are sturdier and won't droop with the weight.
And also, what do the numbers 884, 885, or 886 mean. I never could figure that out.

884's are made for stock weight applications, 885's are for a light/moderate load, and 886's are for heavier applications (ie: plate bumper, winch, skids, etc)

Some of the other guys on here can correct me if I am wrong, but the shocks aren't going to help prevent sag as much as the actual coils do.

For what you are running, 885's with the OME shocks should help level you back out. 886's would probably be too stiff unless you add a full plate bumper.

I would probably go with 886 coils. Toytec's website says for 200lbs or more in the front which you are awfully close to. 885s would probably get you back to stock height though if that is all you're looking to do. If you go with the complete kit with Dakar leafs in the back though, you'll want some lift so I would say 886s. Might even need some 1/4" top plate spaces as well.

Use the 886 with the weight your are going to add. Without the spacer your hub to fender will be around 22.25-22.5". Not sure exactly what the AAL will net you because I refuse to run them. The Dakars will get you 24" fender to hub in the rear. I used the front top plate spacer and my measurements are 23.25" DS, 23.5 PS, and 24" rear. I run stock UCAs and got a good alignment, but will upgrade to aftermarket in time.

I believe the tire you want to run is a true 32" or less (?), if so it'll fit just fine. I'm running 32.6" at 275 with no rub.

^This. The shocks won't do shit, it's the spring that provides lift. Reference my last comment for measurements. Those are with Allpooh apex bumper and front skid, as well as 80" sliders. And even with the 886s I had to use the spacer to level the truck out.

Now if I still wanted to get 3" out of the lift, the 886 would be my best bet. Now the ride quality would worsen a bit, right. Are there better options out there?

I'm sure Chris will chime in on this one but with the additional weight, the 886s should ride like 885s. That's why they make the different coils. If you used the 886s but didn't have the additional weight it would probably be really stiff but the extra weight you have should make it ride fairly nice. It'll be stiffer than stock but I don't mind the ride at all.

And I should still get the full lift, or close to it.

886s are much worse (ride wise) than 885s. I ran 885s without any weight and it was stiff, added a plate bumper (about 80 lbs), rode like a Cadillac, added winch (about another 80 lbs) to said bumper, nose was down way too much, swapped to 886s, still stiff, added skids (about 150 lbs) and sliders (about 60 lbs) and it was pretty damn good after that, Dakars in the rear and a loaded toolbox with gear (about 250 lbs) I couldn't have been happier with the ride until I switched to kings front and rear.

Where can I purchase the 1/4 inch spacer? I've called 4WP, ORW, and DSMS, and nobody seems to sell them.

wheeler's off road sells a set of "plastic" ones that are super cheap.
