A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
Wheelers are 4x4 experts, and the quality of their work should not be questioned.

Take your stuff to VIP and see what happens.

Oh yeah I no. I have ordered a lot of part from them and they are top notch !!! I just never had them assemble anything for me before. Not meaning to step on any toes.:)

All good, just sticking up for them. They go above and beyond to take of us TWers, through tech expertise or sales and service support. Send YotaDan a PM and ask him about their assembly process.

Completed the full OME install (Nitrocharger Sport, 885s, Dakars) this past weekend. No real issues encountered except the lack of new upper spring seat/strut mount on the OME struts - those were supposed to be part of the ARB/OME Tacoma kit, right?

She sits just barely @ss-high now.

To facilitate R&R of the struts, we disconnected the swaybar and tie rod from the spindle, and disconnected the upper ball joint from the control arm. This reduced frustration and gave plenty of room to maneuver around the CV boot.

The original coil spring was compressed to remove the upper spring seat, and that was transplanted to the new OME struts. Talk about beefy compared to the stock TRD Bilsteins. :)

After 6 years of Canadian winters, I'm extremely impressed that we were able to pull everything apart without the use of torches.

All in all, I'm very impressed with the ride. Firm yet compliant, absorbs bumps like a champ, and it no longer feels top-heavy when cornering. Also tracks straight and true on washboard, and zero bump steer like I was starting to experience. I've got slight positive camber, so we'll see if my mechanic can fix that without new UCAs.

With ~1.5 face cord of wet wood in my 5x10 trailer hitched up, the rear end barely dropped - unlike last time - and the truck sits about level. Before the Dakars (stock TSB leafs and one bottom leaf snapped on driver side) the rear end was squatting so bad it was almost sitting on the bump stops.

I'd do it all over again, and sooner on the next Tacoma.

    Cheers.

Very nice truck you have there. You're lucky you didn't had to use "persuasive means" to remove your original parts, like I did on my buddy's 03 Tacoma :p.

Ok so after about 30 pages of reading I want to get something straight here. If I want to stay between 2"-2.5" of front lift to stay away from getting some UCAs, I should go with some 884s correct? I have a DCSB and am not running any aftermarket front bumpers or anything.

Yep, looks about like what I've got now. I'll take a pic later to compare.

Thanks Clem! Yeah, the torch was standing by - just in case... And I'm sure my mechanic will appreciate the anti-seize we used in certain places for when he needs to revisit those spots one day... The most we used was the impact or a 2 foot breaker bar.

The only issue I'm having post-install is the takeoff shudder, but I haven't done the carrier bearing shim yet. We'll see what that does, but I'm planning to measure angles before/after. We dove right into the install, so unfortunately I don't have my own stock numbers to compare with.

    Cheers.

Are those 885 or 886 coils? I wonder because I am thinking of getting a full OME kit, with the Dakar at the rear on my DBLB. I am worried for the ride height with the 886 since I won't install a front bumper yet.

OME complete kit w/ 885s on Nitrocharger Sports, 1/4" spacers, Dakars w/ Nitrocharger Sports, LR UCAs, 265/70-17, Duratracs, G4 Elite tonneau, Weathertech Window Deflectors, Weathertech digital floor liners, factory JBL/Entune, rear differential breather relocate.
885s will get you right around 2.5". Not sure what the 884s will do for you. If you're worried you get the 884s and if they don't get you enough lift you could add some top place spacers. You'll probably be fine with 885s though.

How much lift did you end up getting? I got right around 3" and my UCAs don't look like that. Granted I went with LR UCAs but they still aren't even close to being that far down.
