I just installed 883's and 5100's (set at zero) and ended up with almost 2 inches of lift. I went with the 883's because they advertised 1.25-1.5" of lift on 2nd gens. Are they going to settle? I don't really want to lift the back and the truck looks a little too bro'd out.

I thought i would share something i thought was cool related to OME suspensions.
Last week i did a all day training course with Overland Experts. Its a local company that does overland/off-road/recovery courses for military, industrial and recreational. That also do full out expo trips. They have gone places like africa, iceland and this may they are doing a trip in bolivia. They are pretty legit, the owner has some impressive qualifications. Anyway ill get to the point, their vehicle fleet consists of only Toyotas and Land rovers, and every single vehicle they drive is equipped with Old man emu suspensions and ARB bumpers. Goes to show how tough this stuff is. Here is some of their vehicles.

After installing my Dakars my steering wheel when driving sits at about 12:30 or 1 olock. Is this because my rear axle is not even? What is the best way to measure for squareness?

Huh?... Idk. Did you lift the front as well? That would be your alignment.

This is after just lifting the rear only. I am currently installing the front now after and I know to get an alignment after working with the front suspension.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
oem springs and shocks sold for a cool $400.

Weird... but agreed, finish up the front and get the truck aligned.

went wheeling on sunday, my driver side front tire ate my custom thin mud flap and rubbed a tiny bit on my already trimmed fenders and my front passenger tire rubbed just a tiny bit.

Looking to solve the rubbing problems, either of my ideas sound feasable?

Rolling heavy, I think it's possible that i've hit the ceiling or getting close to it for my OME setup...

I already have a driver side 5mm trim packer with my 886s so..

I made a 7.5mm and a 10mm trim packer, thinking to move the 5mm to the passenger side and put the new one in the driver side.

i'm a little worried about pre-loading the spring another 5mm but i think that will give me the clearence i'm looking for.

I also ordered a single 1/4 toytec top plate spacer that I was thinking of putting in as well, and maybe facing it down at work to make it more like 3/16.

Think I could sneak by without needing an alignment?

You won't be dissapointed. Same set-up I have. Did you order 1/4" or 1/2" spacers?

Yea, I've read nothing but good reviews on this kit. 1/2" spacers.

    New to the thread here.
I'm about to order the OME kit off toytec with 885 springs, Dakar leaf springs in the rear, and the spacers to hopefully achieve 3" all around. Any advice or considerations?
This is gonna be my first mod to my '13, pretty pumped.

Add some light racing UCAs to that order, but there are vendors that have a better price than toytec.

This. It will be very difficult to get a good alignment with the stock UCAs with that much lift.

Ok yeah it was thinking about doing that anyway, any brands that are recommended? Also, anything I should do to maintain a proper angle on my drive shaft, I read something about 3 degree spindles maybe?

Well the SPC light racing UCAs are a cheaper option compared to a uniball style UCA, LRs use a oem style balljoint with a boot to protect the moving parts from the elements. They also claim to offer 20 degrees more articulation over stock UCAs. Uniball UCAs can offer "cleaner" travel and are recomended when paired with a high end extended travel coilover. The best price i have seen on the LR is from headstrongoffroad.com.
You are thinking of 3* shims, they are placed between the leaf springs and axle, they will rotate your axle so the differential points up towards the carrier bearing. You can use shims or use a CB drop, a CB spacer will drop the carrier bearing and also helps reduce driveshaft angles. It is hard to say what will work and what won't. I think you are best off installing the leaf springs first and see if you develop a vibration. Pay attention to any vibes or shutters before you install, and then you can better diagnose any problems. Then try a CB drop or shims. Ask toytec about installing a longer centering pin in the leaf springs to allow for shims to be installed down the road if you need them.
