Good to know. I will probably be driving around with the pack, without the bumper for a week or two so I will get all of my measurements. Once everything is installed I will also add weight and see how much it is affected. Regardless it is going to be better than when I was loaded down on the stock springs on Top of the World in Utah. Haha!

It depends on the price. I got a hell of a deal on a lift kit with 886's as well and didnt want the 886's. I found some 885's for sale on the forum for 125 shipped, and posted the 886s on the forum yesterday for sale and within an hour I had 153.00 in my paypal account someone sent me for the 886's. People are always looking to upgrade to 886's after they put a bumper or armor on. You could probably even find someone and just straight up trade the 886's to 885's.

You can run the 886s without armor or a bumper. I did so for about a year. The ride is stiff, no doubt, but if you take out your sway bar it loosens up a little. Then, you can do as InducedComa states below. Or you may get frisky and add a bumper and front skid :D

I'm not sure, but I'm inclined to say your truck would ride a little nose up.

Those struts with 886's aren't going to cause any damage so long as you don't go race Baja in it.

Get 887's or 885's with top plate spacers

Yep, exactly my experience as well. With my topper, Toyota bed mat and about 50lbs of extraction gear, full height. A row of firewood across the back of the bed up to topper height, and I get some very minor compression. Hell, with a face cord of split hardwood (only been seasoned for about 9 months), I still have at lease 2" of travel before I hit the factory bump stops, IIRC.

When I bought the Dakars, I wasn't sure and got the AALs on the same order, but didn't install them because there's just no need at this point.

I dont know if you are saving enough money to justify it. When I bought my kit I got Nitrocharger shocks, 886x coils, LR UCA's, DAKAR rear leafs, and avid offroad line-x'd step bars for 1050 bucks. Even though i didnt want the 886's I justified it by saving so much money and knowing I could get the 885's. Granted none of the stuff I bought was brand new, but supposedly only had 3000 miles on it all.

It depends if you want rake or not. I would say just get the 1 1/2" AAL if you want a little rake. You would probably be pretty close to even without any AAL at all as long as you dont use any spacers on top of the coils.

Is it just me or is the upper overload in the leaf pack on the left way more arched than the one on the right ?

Which is interesting because I have one side that is always closer to the regular leafs than the other

Guys the springs are not facing the same direction. One has the rear facing up and one has the rear facing down. Don't freak the poor guy out.

I have read and read. Will someone just answer this. With a complete OME setup with Dakars, 885s and LT UCAs can I run 285/70/17 without rubbing or do I have to add a top plate spacers? (I really don't want to add the spacer)
I am willing to trim a lot of plastic but don't want to cab mount chop
Thanks in advance. Once I get an answer I am placing my order.

You'll need wheel spacers or aftermarket wheels with appropriate backspacing

OME complete kit w/ 885s on Nitrocharger Sports, 1/4" spacers, Dakars w/ Nitrocharger Sports, LR UCAs, 265/70-17, Duratracs, G4 Elite tonneau, Weathertech Window Deflectors, Weathertech digital floor liners, factory JBL/Entune, rear differential breather relocate.
Like OZ said, there's more to fitting 285s than just a lift. Even with wheel spacers or different wheels you'll probably still need to do some trimming. The OME kit will give you plenty of lift to clear them height-wise though.

yeah my wheels are ATX crawls with a 0 offset and a 4.5" backspacing. You think I will still need the spacers? (please say no)
