I'm installing my lift Friday, but I honestly don't understand how these Bolt Head Lengtheners benefit you. Maybe it will make more sense once I pull my current leaf pack off, but how does this help to add shims later?

 

The centre pin head needs to positively lock into the notch in the axle , without lengthening the portion the protrudes out of the leaf pack , the thickness of the shim will not leave enough of the head exposed below the shim to adequately seat into the axle

 

Ok...I think I'm getting it. I'll found out for sure when I install tomorrow.

There is no question about it

 

You will still have some rake. About the same as stock. I was fairly level with 1/4" spacers on top.

 

I have virtually the same truck and lift. I've had no vibrations and do not have a carrier drop. Likewise, I also do not have a diff drop and haven't had any issues...so far.

 

What's going on in this thread? 1st Gens are taking over!

 

Which way does the flat part of the 885 coil go. Up or down?

Does this rubber gasket go back on top like it was factory?

 

Thats a bushing and yes it goes back on top.
There should be one underneath the top hate as well.

 

Heres the order:

Shock boot over stem
Washer
bottom bushing with nipple that goes through hole in top hat
Top hat (make sure coil isolator is on)
Bushing
Washer
Nut washer
Nut

 

Thanks...I put the coil seat on backwards and I was trying to figure out what was wrong.

 

Should I get over 3" with just 885 and trim packer? I'm assuming no. They are about the same height as my dakars I just put on. I have major caber issues as well. Something is not right. I got another 1" to 1.5" when I drove it 40 miles home. I was planning on an alignment in the morning, but something may be off.

 

I also have a little clunk when I hit the brakes a little harder than normal.

 

Anything look off?

 

I noticed your UCA ball joints are set all the way inward, I set mine all the way outward and had it aligned there. Can you snap more pictures of the suspension? You should be able to adjust the LCA cam bolts and get it a little more reasonable until it's aligned.

You said you got another 1"-1.5". Of what?

I got another 1.5" lift when I drove it home. I know the LCA can be adjusted, but I wanted that to be done at the tire shop. I pushed the ball joint in to help with the tire lean. It will lean more if I pull it back out.

 

What picks of the suspension do you need?
