So you just put the 1/4" spacer on the driver side? I'm a little confused on what you said. I thought it would need to go on driver and passenger side.

    Yes sir
He's talking about fixing the "taco lean" on his truck. Not all, but a good amount of tacoma's get "taco lean" because most of the weight of all of the engine components are on the drivers side of the truck, this makes the truck "lean" slightly. Guys put a 1/4" spacer to counter the "lean" on the drivers side so it looks level and doesn't lean.

He used the OME trim packer on the driver's side ( which goes below the coil perch ) but still had taco lean so he added a 1/4" top plate spacer as well

at least that's how I read it

I read it as you used the 887 and 1/4" top plate spacers on both sides... I understand now.

I have a set of 887s and Dakars in the garage. Just waiting on my 90021s to get here so I can install them. I picked up the trim spacer, but hope I don't end up needing the 1/4" top plate on the drivers side as well.

Guess I'll find out here shortly!

Your truck looks good! Can't wait to get mine on.

    Appreciate the clarification...

I am getting conflicting information.

I emailed Wheelers yesterday and got this response.

From Wheelers: "So the main difference between the nitrochargers and the nitrocharger sports is the valving. The sport shocks are valved firmer to give a more sport oriented ride."

Does anyone have any real world data on the difference between these shocks?

Update: Just received the attached pdf's and email on the Nitrocharger Sport from ARB.

From ARB: "The nitrocharger is going to be a bit more of a softer ride then the sport due to the single valve design. The sports were designed to give a comfortable but performance feel on and off road."

    Hope this helps.

Yea so what Oz said was correct - My Driver side had both the trim packer (under the coil perch), and then still had the lean, so I added the 1/4" spacer to it.

On the passenger side, I have no spacer, and no trim packer, just the shock and coil, normally assembled.

Before you assemble your coils, you might want to look at how your truck sits with the stock suspension and a full tank of gas. Mine had a slight lean, noticeable to only those who know about it. When I installed the lift, it actually made the lean more noticeable, not sure why (whether optical illusion or not). Would have saved me a hundred bucks because I had to have them disassemble the shock/coilover and add it in...pain in the ass, but hey its over and it looks good!

    Best of luck with yours!

Yep, I was informed that the 90000s are recommended for folks running winches and plate bumpers up front because they are a little firmer than the 90021s.

The 90021s are recommended for folks that are running stock bumpers and little additional front end weight.

Guys at ARB said that the 90021 will be closer to the Nitrcharger than the 90000. But they said they are supposedly a much better shock... And have a longer warranty.

Probably wouldn't be as conflicting if you had included my response

I see my error. I was wanting a comparison between regular NitroChargers and NitroCharger Sports. I see now this was a difference between the 90000 and 90021.

1998 TRD 4x4 V6. OME 881 in front, Dakar in rear, nitrosport shocks all around.

So it seems like I have squeaking coming from the front suspension. I tested the bumper and I can't make it squeak by hand. I tested the factory skids and I can't make it squeak by hand...

But when I'm driving I get an annoying squeak which seems to be "bump" related, meaning when I hit certain types of bumps (not the jarring kind, just little ones in road imperfections, dirt alley ways, etc) something is squeaky.

Thought I'd ask if there's something common with the OME suspensions up front that I could check out.

And yes, every bolt is tightened to specs.

I had a squeak coming from the frame mount of the sway until I took it off, and another from the upper control arm, lubed it up and it went away.
