Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
You could always remove the 3rd leaf in the dakars, im 1/2 higher in back with 885s and 3rd leaf removed. I only got 2.5 inches of lift from 885s.

Edit- i didnt see that sandman already suggested that haha

I don't believe 1" up == 1" down. General opinion of diff drops on 2nd gen is "it don't do shit but put your diff down in harms way and add stress".
If you want 4" I don't believe OME is for you, unless you go to drop bracket.

What is your hub to fender measurement in the rear with the Daks ?

4" of lift is almost an inch over all the other posters in my Dakar thread

installation was completed a week ago. I've put about 150 miles on it, wheeled it yesterday and took measurements again today, 25.5"

looking for anyone to chime in that has used the OME front spacer kit, if there's anyone out there. might just install it & report back if I don't hear anything.

Just do the 1/4 spacers, 1/2 spacers will be alot of lift with 885s plus you will need longer top plate studs. Plus you said you already got 3" off lift without spacers. Your cv angles will be bad and you will barley have any downtravel. If you want to be level pull a leaf out of the leafs, much easier and cost effective compared to adding top plate spacers.

hmm...would I be ok with 886 coils in the front with the dakar + aal in the rear on my access cab? I'd be ok with the stiffness since I haul about once a month, just worried about having too much lift up front and potential CV issues.

I was looking to get this http://trdparts4u.toyotaofdallas.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=-7220 locally and the other kit with 885's doesn't come with the aal.

i'd want to get an ARB front plate bumper(probably later this year) later but i'll probably just have skids/sliders and gear to weigh it down for now.

currently my truck is sitting with 5100s at .85 setting on oem coils and 'dead' rear tsb spings

Ok, so this is the Q&A thread for OME, right. I have read many, many threads on suspension here and thank you all for the wealth of knowledge. I have a couple of questions regarding the differences between some of the OME "kits" that I have seen online. For the record, I have a 2013 DCSB TRD Sport and am looking at a lift 3" or less. Would prefer to try to do something that does not entail new UCAs, that said, I'll do what I need to do...

In looking at this particular kit http://www.sleeoffroad.com/products/tacoma_suspension.htm

    vs. this kit
Both are labled as OME kits, but the Toytech site does not do a complete leaf spring replacement. It appears that the coils are different models as well. I believe that the guys at Slee Offroad claim that new UCA are not needed with their spec'd kit. This is where I'm confused. I read everywhere that new UCA are needed above as you approach 3" of front lift - is that right?

Also, why the big price difference? Is it just the leaf springs? It seems that the Wheeler OME kit is about the same spec as Slee (see complete kit at the bottom of the wheelers page). It sounds like a complete leaf spring is better than an AAL, so maybe it's just worth a few extra $$. I want a quality set up that will ride well both on and off road. My truck is pretty new and I don't want to do a hack job on it either.

    Thoughts?? Comments??

I think you mean UCAs which means upper control arms. And what you have heard is correct, they are recomended when you lift the front end over 2.5", they are not absolutely necesarry. Some people have stock UCAs with 3" of lifts and claim it rides fine. The problem is after you lift the truck in order to get the alignment in spec, more specifically the camber and toe, you will have to sacrifice caster. Low caster may make the truck feel "squirley" at high speeds and your truck may want to wonder a little on the highway. Camber and toe will effect tire wear so those are important to get close to perfect. New UCAs will add 2* of caster making it easier to get the alignment perfect.

You have the option of buying the new leaf pack from toytec, look at the bottom of the page on the OME kit. I have dakars and i think they are great, they may not be necesary if you dont haul or tow, but they will probably last alot longer than the stock leaf springs with an AAL. I think the front springs on both vendors is the same, for about 2.5" of lift you want 885s, for a full 3" of lift get 1/4" top plate spacers. Toytec is great because they will assemble the front shocks and springs for a little more money.

That Toytec link goes to a first Gen kit. That is why the numbers are different. Here the second Gen Toytec OME kit By ACAs, I assume you are referring to UCAs....either way you will need new ones with 885s. No sense having a new truck drive like a worn out farm truck. Dakars are great especially if you haul or tow. I went with wheelers 3 leaf AAL because I don't haul to tow.
