I wouldn't go over 2.5, but that's just me. I don't want blown cv's, needle bearing trouble, or any of that. Way too much trouble for .5

So if I were to put 884s.. to get 1.75-2 inches.. how many leaves would I need to remove to have not such a severe rake .

Kinda confused. Why would you be removing leaves? You might be a tad nose high.

The needle bearing in your front diff is going to start vibrating at some point, lift or no lift. It's a poor design, and understood as a poor design industry wide.

At 3" of lift you will not "blow" your CVs. If that were the case I would've grenaded both by now. What you will encounter is premature wear of the CV boot. Some of us accept that and have spare half-shafts ready to go and regrease and reboot the old ones. I'm at 50k on mine, no problems yet with the fins barely touching. Again, Toyota IMO made a piss-poor decision and catered to the fat lazy fuckers who are too apathetic to get out and lock the hubs. Every time I fill up the fuel take I thank the emperor for that genius decision.

My point is this: There is no trouble at 3".

Oh ok..good to know.. I have had 4wd before but never lifted one before.. I don't mind wearing parts out faster. I just would like to know what to watch for.. with my prerunner it was only the lower control arms..

The angle of the half-shaft out of the front diff and into the spindle is what we keep an eye on. As I alluded to above, the more angle (as a result of lift) the more the CV boots have to flex, and the more they flex the more wear and tear they experience. This would be a moot point if we had locking hubs.

Front bilstein 5100 with OME 884 w/trim pack, 17" fuel trophy wheels wrapped with 32" toyot open country m/t, bakflip fibermax tonneau cover, Avec 30" led light bar behind lower grille, marathon seat covers in max 5 camo pattern, trimmed front and rear mud flaps, more to come.
I have a db cab with 884's with the intentions to level it out. in your situation depends on if you want rake or not but it you want to be level I would go with the 885? just a guess but if you wanted rake I would go with the 884 and make sure to get the top plate spacer for the lean. using the 5100 you cant use the trim packers that the people are using with the OME shocks. im currently about to go to a bigger top plate spacer because the 1/4' didn't do it for me. I have a little ocd when I comes to measurements and im about 3/8" off from the driver side and the passenger side but do note that all trucks will be different. someone else could use the same spacer I have on right now and be right on the money. I was just one of the unlucky ones I guess. Hope this helps! and im sure others will chime in as well.

If I put 887 coils on with an 80 pound front bumper and dakars with a 135 pound rear bumper with a 120 pound spare tire on the tire gate, would I have much rake? I'm hoping for about an inch of rake.

How much taller are the rear compared to the OEM ones. I asked wheelers and they told me that they were the same height as OEM. I thought that was crazy because I have the front superbumps and they are def not the same height as the OEM ones. I'm just curious because I was wanting to buy them but after they told me that I didn't find the need to.

The bump compresses to the same height , the tower raises the rear one , I can measure the tower for you , hang on

From the underside of the tower base to the underside of the bump looks to be 1 3/4"

    Want 2.5"-3" lift.
All Pro Apex bumper w/ hoop approx 137 lbs
    Undecided on 887 or 886?
Like to maintain smoothest ride as possible.
Mixed reviews. Reading 887s might be to bouncy and 886s might be too stiff.:notsure:
Currently have Toytec adj. Pre-loaded too much to achieve 2.5" of lift resulting in harsh/stiff ride.
