I had 5100s at 1.75" but otherwise the same setup. 5100s at all 4 corners and the same 3 leaf AAL in the rear.

I'd definitely so OME coils over 2.5 on the 5100s. Also, I would probably wait to lift the front until you see how much lift you need to compensate from the AALs.

Front bilstein 5100 with OME 884 w/trim pack, 17" fuel trophy wheels wrapped with 32" toyot open country m/t, bakflip fibermax tonneau cover, Avec 30" led light bar behind lower grille, marathon seat covers in max 5 camo pattern, trimmed front and rear mud flaps, more to come.
you could do that if you were in a pinch but like Jekyll said, 885 w/5100 set at 0. will give you a way better ride.

The 884/5100s on my DCSB 4x4 settled to just under 2" of lift. You'd probably see 2" or just over on a PreRunner.

you obviously do some hard core off roading and therefore love your 886s. I will be doing offroading but nothing to your extreme. I am planning on running an offroad bumper and am on the fence as to whether I want an aluminum or steel one. i plan on putting a winch on it eventually just am not sure if i really need to go with the steel. anyhow all that being said would you say the stiffness of the 886s is too much for a daily driver that will not be offroad as much as yours is? just really on the fence about what setup i want to go with, 886 and steel bumper or 887 and aluminum. thanks.

So I talked to two different companies today.... I'm dcsb 4x4 after research I am thinking 884x up front and Dakars in rear.. should be about 1.75-2 up front.. and 2.5-3 in rear which would yield an inch rake.. which once I put rtt and other stuff in bed even loaded will have a rake.. no bro lean ever..

No UCAs isn't a guarantee. My truck drove noticeably worse at 1.75".

But you are a prerunner.. I needed them too in mine... but most 4x4 can get away with out.. may not be perfect but are able to do it.. 884 make sure of that

I do off road a bunch but I also daily drive my truck and I don't consider it too stiff. I also had 884s before the 886s and I didn't think there was a huge difference, stiffnesswise, between the two. I also like the option of being able to add more weight as I do mods without losing height. I have a big ass battery too to hold up ;)

I also forgot to mention I plan on doing skids underneath as well. So I guess regardless of which bumper I go with the 887 are going to lose lift quickly once I start adding those. I really want to get as close to 3 inch as I can get and not lose it with weight. Just curious, how stiff's it gonna be till I get the bumper cause it could be a couple to 6 months before I can get the bumper. And why such a big battery?

It'll be stiff but I don't think it'll be something you hate, consider it motivation to get your bumper on :)

WRT to the battery, mine died so I picked up a platinum diehard marine. Things weighs like 80#s. Since I have a winch and lights and stuff I didn't want to run out of juice.

Just so you know the 885 is what OME recommends for the Tacoma Double Cab.

I have 884s on my DCSB 4x4 and three alignment shops could not get my front end to the "ideal" specs for a lifted truck. They were only able to get 1.5 caster and I have a noticeable amount of positive camber. It drives and steers well, but my tires are prematurely wearing on the outside edge thanks to the positive camber.

OME also claims all of their coil options provide 2" of lift, which is incorrect. If you want 2.5" on a stock DC, go 885. If you want 2", go 884.

Well just think if you had 885... .. didn't say it was perfect.. but less chance for uppers.. rather gamble than pay for uppers I don't need..
