Hey guys, a bit off topic..I'm experiencing an awful thud when I go over speed bumps. From my research, that seems to come with the territory when you get an OME lift. From what I've read, its because the front struts are not any longer than stock and so they overextend. Does anyone have a recommendation for this? Other than the obvious one to slow down over speed bumps? Because I can sometimes hear/feel it when I'm going down the road and hit a pothole. With stock, I had no issues. I have the 1/4" top plate spacer and my truck sits level (I haven't measured it, but it looks level). If I remove the top spacers, would this help or no? I haven't noticed anywhere that the UCA would be hitting. If only I could get a camera under there to be sure..Thanks for your input!

I have the 885s as you suggested in your March post, but the clank is still there. I have Boss shocks in the rear since I have a '15 and didn't want to risk the OME not fitting properly. If, in the future, I change out the front OME struts with Boss struts, would that fix the issue? I ordered from Toytec if that helps. Not sure if Boss is better quality or not. I know the complete lift kit was several hundred $$ more though.

    Hello,

Is anyone running the 886 Coils with Icon UCA's..? I resantly swapped my UCA from Cambrug O.E. Ball joints to the Icon units. I'm having a random clunk, almost as if the Ball Joint in the UCA is maxing out. Any advise..? I'm guessing as the 886 give you almost 3" am Icon C.O. Should only be set at 2.5" the ball joint is maxing out..? Is this possible..?

    Thanks..!

Isn't it just the sway bar contacting the coil? Sway bar spacers should help. Cheap option too.

My clank went away , but the general consenus is the OME shocks top out over sharp drops like speed bumps

Can't imagine it maxing it out consider (I think this is right) that icon coilovers have more travel than OME. So it shouldn't be flexed right out.

If you have the sway bar on it could be the coil contacting the coil.

I put the sway are relocation bracket on durring the install. I was warned by another member that I might need it, so I just did it with the lift.

@tacoma16 I was thinking the same.. I mean, the Icon should have more travel right..?

The sway bar has been remove (best mod hands down).

If I bounce on the front bumper (ARB) you hear the ball joint top out. The sound/noise I here is only on the pass side, it only happens when I'm making a slight turn right or left. It's a sold thump not a clank (metal on metal)

I posted here to see if any of the 886 guys could chime in. Thanks for the input, much apriciated.

I just want to say this real quick

Earlier in this thread, I state that my Mobtown recovery bar receiver hitch came welded on crooked. Well, Joe at Mobtown saw this and contacted me before I could contact him. He stated that their jig was bent unbeknownst to him. He is sending me a replacement recovery bar right away. Awesome customer service. Thank you Joe!

I've only been driving my truck with the 886's for a day. I did notice that when I went over the first speed bump at the same speed I used to, there was a clank. I just attributed this to the stiffer springs?
