OZ-T…..I have a question. Installing my OME next week on my 05 extended cab TRD sport (with topper and no weight up front) next week and want to go with the 885 springs instead of the 884's that this company is telling me to go with. There saying that it might actually be higher in the front and there not into that because of how it would handle on trail. I would assume if it turned out that way it would only be about .25-.5 higher. I really want to try and achieve 3 inches up front without a spacer and will be going with 255/80/17's on stock wheels without spacers and full leaf packs in the back. Any photos or recommendations?
Spent a couple hours going through this large thread and gave up…decided to post. My first. Its good to be here.

You won't be nose high with 885's even if you get 3" out of them

You may want to go back a page or 2 and read Crom's posts re using 5100's instead of OME shocks

I have a DCLB , 885's and Dakars ( same leaf pack as you ) and a Leer 100RCC cap plus about 250 lbs of tools and I have 1 1/2" of rake , you are unlikely to have a nose high condition

I figured I would be fine. Been trying to find photos of extended cabs with 885's, and Dakars. Hard to find. Hard to find extended cabs in general….with a 6 speed manual.

So if I put a 115# Pelfreybilt bumper, plus my skids, plus me, plus a Winch, on 886's... Then load four obese dogs, 17 bags of concrete, 2 gorgeous ladies, two small cats, and a lawn mower in the bed of my truck with my Dakars.... Plus a handful of Bluray movies in the cab..... Oooh and exactly half a tank of 87 octane fuel....

What temp will it be during the Super Bowl this year? :)

    Hi there -

I have an 06 DCSB and I'd like to add a little clearance. I do alot of driving so I'm not looking for anything huge, I was thinking 1"-2" max. I spend alot of time on mountain roads, through rivers and deep rutted mud and snow, but don't do much rock crawling or plan on doing it. I don't use sliders or any major skid plates as they add weight and hurt gas milage but I would like a little extra clearance. Yes, I worry about gas milage, and, no, I not going to buy a Prius. My understanding is that you don't see tremendous hit in MPG's until you get to 3" and above (correct me if this is wrong) so I'd like to stay under that. I'm looking for ride quality and clearance over anything else. I'm often on highways traveling around 70-80MPH so I'm hoping to avoid rattles and whatnot. This is why I've been interested in OME, from what I understand they're supposed to be one of the best setups you can get.

I'm also hoping to level the truck.

I also have NO idea what I'm doing. I am not a mechanic, however, my two close friends are and can't wait to get their hands on my truck. They have quite a bit of experience lifting trucks, but told me I had to decide on my own parts, which I respect.

I'm looking for resources, install instructions, parts selections, opinions and reviews. I'm assuming this is probably the best spot.

Any information you guys can provide would be awesome. Thanks in advance!

My 3" OME lift didn't alter my MPGs. That happened after I added skids and wider rims - plus cold weather hit.

I'm scouring this thread looking for vibration issues and I'm not coming up with a solution. I just took a 1300 mile trip on the new OME setup and my vibration is still there. Seems worse after I've been driving for a while (like long highway stretches at 65-75mph). The vibration is most prominent at 45mph and it's a long pulse that can be felt in the floorboard. At first I kept thinking driveline, but the more I read the more I'm leaning towards needle bearing. I got truck aligned right after the install and the wheels balanced right before this trip.

Also, I'm getting a real bad popping sound when I'm at full steering wheel lock in reverse. I think I may have popped a sway bar end link joint during the OME install, so I have to check on that today. Anyone have experience with the grease-able Moog end links?

If its the front drivers side needle bearing, it will go away when put into 4wd. Try that and report back. If it doesnt go away, most likely driveshaft u-joints are the culprit. Those are the two main vibration culprits we face when lifting the Tacomas.

I've been trying to diagnose this on my Taco!! It only can be felt between 35-45mph when cruising. If slowing or accelerating I don't feel it. And I only feel it through the far left foot rest on the floor board.

The "pulsing" comment is right on. It's like driving over the vibration groves on the side of the highway.

I never get a pop though. Truck drives straight, etc. I haven't noticed it on 4x4 I don't believe but I'm rarely in 4x4 unless on an icy road and accelerating from a stop.

Been considering going to Toyota to figure out what the heck this is. It's barely noticeable but it's there.

If it is that needle bearing what's the Method of repair? I've been trying to figure out this exact vibe (no popping) for months now on my 2015. Honestly can't tell you whether it began before or after lift.
