Dakars + 1" block in the rear should give you even more rake I should think. I have Dakars with 887's up front and a bunch of rake. The Dakars provide 2.75" rear lift as it is. And the rear is naturally higher to begin with. 887's on Nitrosport up front is like 2.75-3" with no extra weight. Still have rake.

Unless you routinely have a load on the rear I'd think you just want more lift up front?

With your plate bumper 886 will handle the weight better if you want less squat. But they aren't as tall as 887. But since 887 aren't as stiff they will squat more than 886's.

Long story short of you want less rake lift the front more not the back.

According to ARB's specs, the 886s are 402mm free height and 887s are 400mm. I'd call them even and say if he wants less rake, go 886s because they won't squat...like you said.

What lift would you recommend anywhere around $1,000?

FWIW, I'm running 886 with absolutely no weight up front and I love the ride quality. It's firm and responsive but not harsh at all... And I have a full 3" up front. Liking my decision to go with the 886 coils.

My 886s with no weight are a little too rebound-y for me. Drove a stretch of highway this past weekend that was paved with little dips not far apart and the front end was bucking coming out of each dip. The tires didn't ever feel like they left the pavement though, which I liked.

i have a regular cab with 885's, 90021 front and 60091 rear nitro sport shocks and a toytec 2 inch add a leaf and the ride is really harsh :anonymous:. i'll definitely be changing out the aal soon.

It's funny, I rode with 886's for a while with nothing up front. No plastic bumper just the crush bar. Added the bumper and it didn't change. Added the winch and it softened up slightly. I have the sway bar on and that probably doesn't help, but the ride is way better considering all the body roll I was getting on stock suspension wth skids and sliders. Off-road it has made a WORLD of difference. The girlfriend actually likes going now because the ride isn't unbearable.

Alright, I think I'm gonna go 886s up front with the 90000s and the aal with the 60091s in the back because I don't do too much driving so I can deal with the aal while I save up for the dakars.

I've heard that the OME kit rear shocks aren't compatible with the 2015 tacoma model, apparently it's some sort of fitment issue, does anyone know more about this?

won't fit in the bottom shock mount, but i think it could work with minor grinding.

This is true. Requires some grinding to get them on. :) Only seems to be a 2015 issue. My installer made them work just fine.

Reporting that holds true for my 2013 as well. We had to grind a little to fit on the axle shock tabs. Once in, no problems.

Thanks guys appreciate the quick responses. I'm considering the OME route, but not sure if I want to wait for the BP 51s

Thank you all for the info. I will call OME and ask. Might just get the trim level kit when I get new UCA.

Jtweezy, they are 285/70R17 nitto terra grapplers and I really like them. My dad is surprised how well they work in the snow and ice

I've currently got 887s with 90021s, and 60091s on my Tacoma and I'm about to put on some 886s with 90000s in the front because the front set up sits wayyyy lower than it should, from what I've seen 886s are a pretty good bet to get close or around 3" and still be able to keep some weight in the front

I like the way your truck sits with 887s and 285s. I think looking through your build thread and pictures pushed me over the line to get 887s over 885s with a spacer. I was afraid the 887s would be TOO tall, but it sounds like yours settled more than you may have wanted them to. I'm looking for a little more rake but with room to clear 285s.

Thanks man! And yeah I've got more height in the rear than the front, it's noticeable but it's not crazy. Initially they were at right around 2.75"-3" but they've settled quite a bit. Then again I bottomed out super hard one time while wheeling and it was bad enough to throw off my alignment so I think that may have affected my coils + shocks but I'm not sure

The rear OME shocks wouldn't fit in the bottom mounts on my 2013 either. After I got finished swearing and throwing things... I made the work though.

EVERYTHING I've ordered lately has been a problem. I'm getting pretty tired of spending good money on supposedly good products and the having to mess with them to fit/work.

    There. Venting finished.
