So my dakars have been squeaking and popping whenever the truck flexes the rear suspension, if it flexes slow it pops slow and if it flexes fast its just one clunk. Is there a replacement part for the front bushings on the leaf packs(towards the front of the truck). I'm thinking they are making the noise, not sure. Can they even be changed out? Or you guys think it's something else making all this noise.

ok sweet, didn't know the front and back are the same. Any tips on getting the front bushing out? I got a ball joint puller set that I'm hoping will work.

A socket about the same size as the bushing and a big hammer, just pound it out

Well, I finally swapped my 886 coils for 887s and so far I'm loving it. I let someone convince me to go 886s to get enough lift for 285 tires, when I have no added weight on the front of the truck, so the ride was way too harsh. I knew it was going to be pretty stiff, but I had no idea how uncomfortable it'd be.

I need to try it out on a few more speed bumps, but so far no clank with the 887s! Highway ride is much more plush, city driving is comparable to the 886s just not as jarring. Overall like a stiffer version of stock. I didn't lose much height going from 886s to 887s, and I've decided to go with 255 tires, so clearance shouldn't be an issue.

I'm in the market for the OME Heavy Duty Kit. I have a few questions. I'd like to have a solid 3" lift. That being said I plan on getting the 886x coils. I know a lot of people say they are too stiff. Would that still be the case with the ARB bumper and a winch? Would it still provide enough lift for my 285/70/17's? Also how do the Sport Nitrochargers compare to the standard Nitros? In order to have a leveled ride will the Dakar leafs be enough? I know it's a lot to answer, and I apologize for that. Thank you in advance!

The Sports are meant to ride softer.

Dakar leaf pack will give you a little rake.

Gotcha. So AAL would be preferred with the Dakars?

I wouldn't go with the AAL unless you have weight in the back, too.

886 coils should be fine with the ARB bumper and winch. They were too stiff without weight up front IMO. I'm gonna keep my 886s because I eventually want a plate bumper.

Cool. Yeah I plan on outfitting the bed with a pack rack, RTT, fridge/freezer, and whatever else. Chances are I will just stick with the Dakars until I need to add a leaf or so. Any idea as to how much rake I will have with that setup?

Those are the right coils for that bumper winch combo, just make sure to get the big spacers otherwise you wont get close to 3".

How big do the spacers need to be?

Dakars are stout. If you will carry a load get them. AAL's will provide lift as long as your factory springs are good. Tacoma springs are notorious for sag over time. At that point the AAL's don't do as much for you because the foundation they sit on isn't great.

Keep in mind Dakars are STIFF with no added weight on the rear.

Not sure but both are cheap and easy to swap out. Get both and see which ones you like better :D

Will do. I just realized that my question was pretty vague. How could I expect you to know exactly what size I would need. LOL
