I didn't mean the Dakar AAL. I was referring to the Dakar Leaf pack. This is the kit I'm looking at. I know it is advertised as a 2" lift, but I would like to get as close to 3" as possible to clear my 285/70/17's in any condition while still being able to carry weight. d4dd1a5f278e14f123c66ce120b9c144_9c486cc566564f6a12e08720c99a1ea42db5eeeb.jpg

The d29xl is an AAL designed to be added to the full Dakar pack to increase capabilty and lift height .

So is that something you would recommend with spacers up front to achieve 3" total lift?

It really depends on how much weight your constant rear load will be

Why are you looking for exactly 3" of lift? The Dakars lift the rear pretty high...I don't suspect any clearance issues with 32"-33" tires on the rear.

Unless you're going to be carrying a TON of stuff like OZ said...the Dakars + AAL are going to suck for daily driving.

Gotcha. This is something I will probably do later down the road once I get serious about outfitting my truck. Thanks.

I'm looking for as close to 3" as possible because I know I will lose some height once I start adding a lot of weight. I am also on the fence about moving up from the 285's. I can deal with a rough ride for a little while I get other things taken care of. That being said I definitely don't plan on the AAL until I need them. My first goal is to ensure I can clear the 285's with the ARB bumper and winch. The next step would be to run the Dakars until I have the rear outfitted the way I would like, if I need or want more height I will change the setup accordingly.

Will do man. Thanks for caring. That means a lot.

Looking to go with the Dakars not sure if I need the d29xl aal, roughly have about 375+ lbs always in the rear. Would the d29xl with nitro sports be overkill or just right?

With that weight I would add the d29xl

I carry 400-450 lbs with my commercial cap and tools no problem with the regular Dakar pack

Okay. I think I've got everything sorted out. I think I'll be going with the 887x coils and the Dakar leafs. I'm betting that will net me close to a 3" lift and clear my 285's. I will eventually purchase the 886x coils when I get my ARB bumper and winch. So I has another question.. Would it be wise to pair the 90000 Nitro's with the 887x's as I plan on going to 886x's later? Or are the 887x's best suited with the 90021's?

Great video. I've been needing to fix my drive shaft vibe. I have the same vibe when accelerating, with the bearing drop kit.

I was heading down the 285s route as well and was after the same 3" of lift. Considering you're putting weight up front, I would definitely go with 886s and then add the top plate spacers (I hear they're not difficult to install) if you find that you added too much weight and can't clear the tires anymore. As for the rear, I would stick with the Dakars and get the AAL when you find you're carrying so much on a regular basis that the rear is sagging.

Thanks for the advice. I may just end up doing what you suggested. I was seriously considering the 887x's until I get the bumper, winch, skids, etc. I was doing more reading and everyone seems to hate the ride on the 886x's until you have about 200 lbs. on the front. Like I said I can handle a rough ride as I am used to driving sports cars and race cars with stiff suspension. But how stiff is it? Would it be wise to get the 887x's until I get the front end sorted? The 887x's with the 90000 Nitro's should clear 285's right?

    1ea9c283657b24995826384b3c500e42_b0fdb0c3242b4d4136ac1afef489e0e3a3b59a0b.jpg

This is how I'm sitting right now with the 285's on a 3" spacer up front and 2" blocks in the rear. I'm only rubbing on the stock UCA at full lock. Off road with quite a bit of flex there are no issues. I just ordered SCS F5 wheels which should give me the correct backspacing to clear the UCA. So in theory I should clear with the OME kit as it provides about the same lift. I should only have to make adjustments upon adding weight. Does all of this sound right?

Thanks for all of your patience. I get a feeling I'm overthinking this a little bit.
