Im looking at getting the OME setup for my 2009 tacoma double cab 4x4 and am having a hard time narrowing down if i should go with the 90021 with the 885 coils or if i should do the 90000 with the 885 coils, (or other 88x coils) going to pair them with light racing UCA's. I dont currently have plans to add a heavy front bumper. any other information would be awesome!

Picked up a set of 285/75/16 Duratracs. Will I be ok with 885s? 0204161719.jpg

Yes, but you'll need to do the cab mount chop and some minor trimming. I have 885's and that same tire size.

His truck weighs more than yours, though. I'd expect more sag out of the 885s on a DC.

Not sure what the difference between the 90000 and 90021 shocks are, and ARB's spec sheet doesn't show any difference between the two, but if you're not planning to add a bumper and winch you should go with 885 springs.

Getting some thoughts on my potential set up. Wanting around 2ish inches front and 2.5 inches rear lift.

    Specs on truck:
    2006 dcsb 4wd trd or
    Topper
Offroad rear bumper with swing outs
    Sliders
    Front steel skid

    - it's sitting pretty low and with all my swing out bumper and sliders on its easy to bottom out. Original 2 + overload leaf pack and stock front suspension.

    image.jpg

    Lift I'm looking at doing:
    Used 885x
    5100s front and rear
    Dakar rear

I'm hoping to get away with stock uca until I make a front bumper for it

Could any of you guys link me to any discussions about ome shocks topping out on downtravel? I know ive seen it on here before but couldn't find it.

I have ome coilovers with 885 springs pre-assembled by toytec on a 12 sr5 4x4 with no extra weight. Stock ucas. I installed myself. The truck rides awesome, couldn't be happier BUT the passenger side strut seems to top out on rapid decompression like coming down off a speed bump or hitting a pothole. Only on passenger side, and will happen regardless of whether there is weight in the front seat.

Any advice or links to previous discussions appreciated thanks!

Over speed bump goes clank. Go buy different shocks.

The people that have had it, that I've seen, replace them with billies. Fortunately I don't experience this problem.

Hmm yeah mine is pretty minor but still annoying. I've put 10k miles on them over about a year and may just live with it for a while till I need new tires in a few years. Hopefully it's not putting too much stress on my mounts and bushings
