    2 3/8 front driver
    2 1/8 front pass.

    but the driver side was 1/2" lower to start with.

    But still...my original front measurements were 20" driver and 20.5" passenger. Which one do I calculate my lift from? Just average them to 20.25?

    If you want more lift calculate from driver, less use passenger measurements :D not sure, does it matter?

    Does the zero (0) mean that the leaf is not above or below the tolerances when tested? ( as opposed to + or -) I've got dakars on order and would be good to know before they arrive

    Well, that's the problem. Say I want 2.75" of lift. Calculated from the passenger side, which is 0.5" taller. If I set both sides to be equal (I'd like for the sides to be level) that would be a 3 1/4" lift on the driver side to match the passenger side.

    I gotcha. You care for it to be level. Do the 10mm spacer on the DS and the bigger one on the PS.
    Yes. If you get them like that the ++ goes on the drivers side. If you get a 0 and --, the -- goes on the passenger side. Etc.

    I have the AAL on my 1st gen dakars and it isn't overly firm in the rear. With hundreds of pounds in the back it is springy, without enough weight it is springy and too tall.

    Dude you might be on to something...
    Lift amount has nothing to do with leveling. If the drivers side started lower it will end up lower post lift. Get a quarter inch spacer on the driver's side if it bothers you that much.

    The whole point of my question was to get some input on what spacers to add. I still need to add a bit more to each side, but still make it closer to level.

    So as you can see, on the front passenger side I started out at 20.5". That was 1/2" taller than the driver side.

    After the lift, I went to 22.625" on that side. That was a net gain of 2.125" on that side, which is 2 1/8".

    The driver side gained more, but started at a lower height. It's actually still shorter on that side.


    So... I was going for 2.75 to 3" of lift. I didn't get that on either side in the front. So it's just not the fact that it's not level. It's shorter than I wanted and still not level. I need to put top plate spacers on both sides. But which ones?

    After some thought...if I add a 3/8 driver and 1/4 passenger it might be more in the range of what I was going for.
