If it comes to it...I have a pair of lightly used OME 886 coils that I'm not using. If your buddy needs them I'd be willing to sell.

@Sub-Zero just try the 885 and see how it sits and also depending on your lift like how much you want on the lift. I didn't want a 3.25 lift with the arb bumper. asides that though, 886 had me at 3.5 up front. and my cvs were all retarded. when I talked to ARB they said 886 are very very stiff, which is true. there was a guy at ARB HQ with the first gen tundra he had 886 and didn't like it, he also switched to 885 and has a front arb bumper and winch. so yeah also if you don't like the 885 and wanna switch to 886 call ARB and they will switch you out no charge. cause all ARB (OME) coils you have 36 month warrenty on them and if you don't like them they will send you a new one and either tell you to send the 885 back to them after install. I was lucky I live in WA, so I just drove up and picked it up myself and had a car shop that they deal with do my spring swap.

What's everybody's thoughts on the new 888 coils? I saw that ARB came out with these for the 3rd Gens. Same spring rate as 885 and 887, just a little longer than 887s are.

I'm running 887s and was really happy with the height until I added sliders and a front bumper. The bumper is only aluminum, but between the 2 I lost some ride height.

I may eventually add aluminum skids and a winch, but I still won't be near the 200 lbs up front recommended for 886 coils.

Seems like 888s may be a good compromise. Any thoughts?

3.5" of lift with an ARB hanging off the front is wild. My 886s have me at 2.25", no top plates.

yeah I know that's what I thought. I thought it was gonna settle to at least 2.5 or 2 but nope it had my first 3.25 then when I had my rtt up it went up 3.5 and stayed like that the whole time so I got fed up and called ARB and they swapped out the coils to 885 plus the 886 was wayyyyyy tooo stiff

I never did any before measurements but my initial guess how much lift I got from the 886 was that it was little over 3" and I was concerned about the height. It settled in the first weeks a little and now going on almost a year and the front end has settled probably about 1/2"-3/4" which l feel much more comfortable about.

A little under 200 pounds. Steel plate bumper and winch with a steel cable, if I could do it over again I would've spent the extra $ on a synthetic rope to save some weight.

crappy pic of how she sits as of a few weeks ago.

    Hey guys,

I sometime use a campershell(200lbs) but most of the time i dont have it on there. I basically just want to be able to carry gear in my bed with my shell on and not be riding on the bumpstops like I am with my stock suspension. I also still want to sit level. I considered airbags but I think I would be happier with a full OME package. 2" lift all around would be perfect for me but I have heard that sometimes the Dakars sit higher than that. I think there is an overload spring that may be able to removed for less lift? Also do you think 884s or 885s would be better? I thought 884s but now am thinking 885s since my truck is the heaviest configuration you can get (4x4, V6, Double Cab). I'd like to avoid new UCAs if possible but I will get them if needed. I want to do it right. What are your thoughts?

I've been liking the rake from 887s and full Dakar, I have 885s going on this week and I have a feeling I'll have too much rake and I don't want to take out the overload. I have a topper as well

Edit: will most likely need ucas with 887s

I put 885's on mine and got 1.75 of lift. After some digging and a few emails, I have come to the conclusion 2-2.5 is urban legend.

man weird for reals everyone gets different heights on the lift. I got 2.75 with ARB bumper with 885 up front. and I have a dcsb. @Sub-Zero when you get your install done I wanna see some pics.

1.75-2 is what Wheelers says for 885s. I just dont want to get too much lift.
