    piddly stuff
sub'd i guess i was missinformed and installed a rough country 3-2 lift and 17x9 wheels with 4.5" bs -12 offset that my local shop recommended. while it gives me the look i want and actually rides well idk if it's what's rt. i don't do hardly any trail riding only logging roads and playing in the mud during hunting season. idk if i'll ever go trail riding as they're none around here. i'm stuck though will be needing new tires i have 285/70/17's now just too exspensive for me to make a change rt now

Hey folks, just a heads-up if you're looking to go the OME route. After install, I couldn't get enough caster in. The thing was squirrely as hell on the highway. After multiple attempts, I finally bought a set of SPC UCAs - this made a world of difference. Have a solid 3* of caster now, the thing tracks straight as an arrow. So be warned, if you're looking to do a lift you're likely going to need to budget in a set of aftermarket UCAs.

    Peace..

He did, but on other forums not nearly as comprehensive as TW. Live and learn.

I'm just playing with you. This is a super resource. Just remeber that no 2 trucks are the same, and most people like to give you their opinion even when really don't want it. How about a pic of your truck?

Show off my AC? Twist my arm..

The mod I'm currently most proud of: 42 extra gallons.

That switch activates an auxiliary fuel pump I mounted under the bed, which draws fuel from the aux tank into the primary filler neck, so essentially you can refuel while driving if desired. Takes about 11 minutes to fill the primary tank (~18 gal). I get about 1080 miles on the highway.

I'd be willing to make a write-up about it if enough people are interested. All in all cost me about $600 (custom tank itself was about $520), did the install myself over the course of a weekend.

Anyway, thanks, I love this truck. Looking forward to several more upgrades in the near future... cap, mounting my US Offroad winch bumper and Engo 9000, then a CB & HAM radio setup to follow.

Anyway, lets put this thread back on its track... /un-de-rail

So I need help deciding on either 2880s or 2881s for my 99 taco V6 4x4. they will be paired with 5100s. Right now Im running General Spring HD leafs in the back which i was told settle to a 1.5" lift. All I want to do is level the truck but cant decide what i need. Also I have no extras up front and am actually missing my skidplates and will make new ones when I get the chance. I came here because there seems to be a huge variation on what the coils will lift and Im just lot in it all, thanks.

Which coil you go with makes a big difference.

885s in mine, dakar leaf in the back. More nose-low than I anticipated, but hopefully the cap will level things out a bit. Do the Dakar leafs break in and lower a bit?

Does anyone know of any vendor having a 4th of July sale that sells Dakar leaf springs?

Probably best practice to budget for UCAs if you don't plan on installing them with the lift just in case, no one wants to drive a squirrely truck.

    Awesome fuel tank!
