For long haul vs short crawl
With my 886, Dakars and LR UCA's I feel like my truck tracks and corners better than stock ever did. Sure it is stiffer but it doesn't feel tippy nor does it bounce around the road when loaded down, over all a huge improvement!

My truck tracks perfectly straight and I like the ride better than stock (full OME stock kit on 2012 DC). I had a full OME kit on my old Land Rover and also loved it with 0 problems. I'd be willing to bet money that the trucks you drove either needed an alignment or had wayyyyy too much air in the tires. A quality suspension kit made to work together isn't going to give you any negative issues except for all the chicks that will want to ride in your truck (okay, that may be a stretch but you'll have lots of guys here liking it).

Hey thanks. I did see those. I'm thinking about adding a piece to the frame where the bump stop makes contact though. Most likely just some square stock.

Right on. I am going to go with them when I get mine, since you can tweak it in increments.

Hi here is an embarrassingly basic install question. I bought the full OME kit in the gb. Stock/light on a 2015 dcsb 4x4. I Also splurged and bought Light Racing UCAs. From what I understand. I will still need to disconnect the spindle and LCA to install the strut. Then reinstall per instructions. Does it matter if the UCAs are installed first or last? I was hoping if I did the UCAs I wouldn't need to drop the LCA. Also, on the UCAs, are there any tricks to not have to bend the inner fender? Cut off old and install new or? Thanks. Doing what I always do, which is overthink projects :)

No need to drop the Lower control arm. I got the same kit w/ SPC LR UCAS. I used the sawzall and cut the Uca bolt and reinstalled in the opposite direction.

I don't think you need to drop the lca entirely or remove spline. . ..I like above post for removal and reinstall ^

Correct. Pop the tie rod end off, remove the two lower knuckle bolts and swing to the side. Insert coil assembly.

Yep. Coils are pretty stiff. I should have gotten them assembled by a local shop with an adequate spring compressor. Might consider that, they are beefy. Sway bar relocate also if you plan on keeping it installed. Some do, some don't. I'm skeered to take it off. Handles awesome on the road, really nice off road..just tops out the suspension on occasion and clunks.

Thanks for the replies. So you popped out the old UCA, left the LCA alone, then did the the coil Over? I was thinking about just cutting the LCA bolt and doing new. Didn't know about the reversal of the bolt trick. That is cool. How close was alignment before taking to a shop? The place I like is 30 miles away. Thanks! Jj

I would not do anything to the LCA, there is plenty of room to get it installed. Especially if you are doing new UCAs at the same time. You can push the lower arm down to if you need room to get the struts in.

My alignment was almost perfect, I drove for a few weeks so it would settle and I installed a bumper, then got it aligned

Anyone ever blown an OME shock here? I've had two incidents where I swear I should've blown one but didn't, these shocks are awesome
