I just received some dakar leafs and two bags of bushings.... Now I know one is for the rear eyes of the leafs.... Is the other set used to replace the oem shackle bushings?

Don't take the leaf out. Toyota leafs have a 1/2" "lift" on the driver's side from the factory, no aftermarket leafs do unless you get them custom made. Just buy the , that's what I did with my OME leafs, and what a friend of mine did as well, solved the Taco Lean.

You don't replace the OEM shackle bushings. Both ends of the leaf springs need the new bushings, so that is where they go.

New dakars come with bushings installed in the front and none in the rear. Mine came with extra bushings as well. I don't see why we would pop out the new already installed fronts?

Maybe something changed since I installed mine, definitely weren't any extra bushings for me.

Ok I'm looking at upgrading my front set up. I currently have 884 coils with a 3/4 inch top plate spacer. I'm wanting to go to bilstein 5100 struts and a taller ome coil. 1st question: will 885s keep the lift even if I have an aftermarket bumper? Or should I get the 886s ?
Second question: will I HAVE to get now UCA's? I won't be doing much off-roading due to being in college. Thanks

Don't go over 3 with suspension. 887's will get you close to 3". 885's will get you around 2". 886's will get you around 2.5-3" without a bigass bumper the ride will be very stiff.

If you go 887's I would say yes, but there are people who didn't.

Depends, aluminum maybe, steel you would lose lift. 886's are the best for steel.

Looking to order my OME kit today. Just looking to do an AAL in the rear. Seems like a lot of vendors only sell the kit with the Dakar leaf pack which will sit too high for my needs. I also want to order the front coil and strut pre-assembled so I don't have to mess with a spring compressor. Toytec has it in stock for $1000 shipped.

    2014 Double Cab Short Bed

    90021 front shocks
    885 front coils
    top plate spacers
Assembled front coilovers with new hardware option
    Toytec AAL

    as configured $963.17

Any reason I shouldn't go ahead and place my order? Truck is bone stock but I have wheels and tires on order. I don't 4 wheel for the sake of climbing over stuff but camp regularly. Most of my camping involves pulling a pop-up trailer. I hope to purchase a slide in camper in about a year, at which point I plan on switching to a beefier rear leaf pack, and since I won't be towing any more I will have a chance to get farther away from people (which means worse roads). Truck sees a lot of on pavement road trips as well so I would like to keep the drive-ability a priority. Any added insight would be appreciated. Thanks

Does that include assembly? Will I need anything else like the shim for this taco lean I'm reading about?
