You have everything you need. I like a little rake so I would leave off the spacer.

You'll have about a 1" rake. Do you put your bed to work? The Dakars are stout but they too have a load limit before they start leveling out. If you're just going for the leveled look then yes, a 1/2" top plate spacer on the driver side and a 1/4" on the passenger.

You don't think the trim packer is going to accommodate for the taco lean?

It would but he's gotta net about 3.5-3.75" up front to offset the roughly 2.75" that the Dakars will net out back if he wants to be completely level.

I agree with that part. I was referring to you saying to put 1/2" on the DS and 1/4" on the PS. He doesn't need to do that if he has the trim packer.

Thanks Matt. Took me about 1 week going from page 1 through page 560 trying to figure out the lift set up. First truck I've owned and no regrets!

^This. It is refreshing to see one less thread title that reads "New to TW, what should I get for a lift kit?" Good on you for doing the research from the get-go.

Hey guys! This is a good thread. I'm not new to Tacomas. But definitely new to lifting. However, I saved you the trouble and also did my own research. This article (http://www.tacomahq.com/66/tacoma-leveling-lift-kit/) is a very good learner/starter kit for the noob like myself. Here's my "story"!

    2009 TRD Off-Road 4x4, 4 door, 6-speed manual. I just received my OME kit from Wheeler's:

OME 885x with OME 90021 Nitrocharger Sport Front Struts
5mm Trim Packer (Spacer for Taco Lean)
OME 60091 Nitrocharger Sport Rear Shocks
    Wheeler's Strut Assembly
    Wheeler's Rear 3-leaf Progressive Pack
    New U-Bolts and hardware

Total Cost = $1053 after forum discount and shipping (If I could do it again, Headstrong has a better price with free assembly and shipping) Gotta keep these companies honest and competitive!

From y'all's experience, will I be sitting nicely (I like a slight forward rake)? Thanks in advance. Can't wait to learn more about my truck and dive into this install. Have a nice weekend!

I will be putting in 5100s front and rear, 887s, and dakars in the back. I usually dont have anything in the bed, no armor, skid plates, winch, etc. Will this level me out? And also, what is the difference between the new light and heavy duty leaf packs that are available now? Thank you

No, you will have a slight rake. The same scenario is discussed starting at post #11200 above.

And @HeadStrong Off-Road wrote a thorough review of the new Dakar offerings here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/new-ome-dakar-leaf-pack-review.489540/

Correct, gotta compensate for the lean.

Okay I have come across another problem.
I was planning on running the 5100s front and rear, 887s, and dakars as seen here. Up front would have given me 2.75 in of lift. The dakars would have given me 2.15-2.4in of lift which is putting in the light duty dakars. I did my center of wheel to fender measurements and they are as follows:

    Both Front Driver/Passenger: 19.75in
    Driver Rear: 22in
    Passenger Rear: 21.5 in

If I did go with the 887s, I would get a final measurement of 22.5 in from center cap to fender. I would have a final measurement of 23.9-24.15 inches of lift with the dakars in the back. This means that I would still be higher in the back by 1-1.5 inches. I wanted to try and get my truck as level as possible.

So, I had an idea instead to go with the OME soft ride struts in the front, and the nitrocharger sport rear shocks with 887s and dakars as seen here. These are supposed to give an additional .25in more of lift in the front (3in total) compared to the 2.75in with the 5100s. This means that I would decrease the rake to around .75-1.25in. My question is this: what is the difference between the 5100's and the OME shocks? Are they better/worse? And I know that each truck is different and that the lift could vary from truck to truck, is it worth going for the more lift to try and level it out? Or, should I just stick with the 5100s and if the rake is too much, install spacers? Let me know what you guys think.

By the way, I have no armor bumpers or anything in the bed to dampen the dakars at all or even the springs. I only plan on running skid plates in the near future. Thanks!

You can remove the long overload spring from the Dakars. It will reduce ride height but l
    Not capacity.
