So which leaf is this exactly? Do you know of any threads where I can see this?

The 2 flat ones at the bottom of the pack. IMG_0247.jpgThe longer on can be removed.

Anybody have any clunking noises in the front suspension after install? I suspect my UCA is hitting the coil or possibly my sway bar. Anybody experience this?

Edit: it's almost only in parking lots and coming to a stop.

U want a slight rake, trust me. The great looking tacomas you see on here and around town have 1"/1.5"+ rake. Peferctly level actually looks a little ass low if you ask me. I think the geometry of the fender flares also has something to do with it. And if you are perfectly level once you go out camping with a bunch of gear in the bed/add a shell/goto home depot, the rear end is going to sag an inch and it's gonna look silly.

This can even be done with the new "light duty" dakars correct?

That is very true. I just want something that looks slightly more level than stock, so in that 1-1.25in area.

Check all your bolts on the front end suspension. I've experienced "clunking" twice on the front suspension of my truck. The first time it was from loose bolts connecting the spindle to the LCA balljoint bracket. The second time is was from a UCA bolt that has become loose.

So whats the difference though between taking out the third leaf from the top vs. the overload leafs? Doesn't OME only recommend taking out the third leaf?

Removing the third leaf from top makes that pack softer as well as lower the ride height. Removing long overload only lowers ride height. That info is straight from ARB. So yes they are ok with it.

Sweet... so I should expect to be about a 1/2 an inch lower taking out the overload

So i recently installed my dakars and they have been squeaking non stop! I found out its actually coming from the ome bushings on the shackle mount. Does anyone have any insight on how to get this to stop? I have even taken them completely off again and re greased and it still squeaks.

Go with Energy Suspension poly bushings. Heavy amount of grease still required. Grease the bolt that goes through the sleeve too. Grease it all!

I used a freakin handful of moly lithium on it all and it still squeaks. Guess the OME bushings are junk....

Oh yeah, they're garbage. Knowing this, I bought poly bushings for both ends of each leaf pack when I bought my entire lift kit.

Haha I'm sure you could. At least you know how to do it for the future. PITA taking things apart to fix an issue. I'm gonna have to do that to my front DS sometime this summer to do the ECGS bushing replacement mod.

I'm trying to lift my front end approximately 1.75''. I already have the second gen. 5100s set up at the third notch (1.1''). I want to go higher and have decided to just go OME springs. From my calculations using the Headstrong site, the 884s should yield approximately 1.75''. I can't find any other 3rd gen DCSB 4x2 owners to confirm this. I contacted Headstrong and Rogue Offroad but nobody has been able to give me a definitive answer. Anybody know?

Here is the build for my '17 TRD OR DCLB:

    3" Lift:
OME Kit with Nitro Charger Shocks
OME 888 Front Coil Springs for 2016+
Softer Ride Nitro Charger Sport Front Shocks
OME Trim Packer for 05+ Toyota Tacoma
    OME Nitrocharger Sport Rear Shocks
    Deaver 1.5"-2" Lift Add-a-Leaf
    Center Bolt - 3/8 x 4.0" FT w/ Nuts
MaxTrac 4WD Diff Drop Kit (not installed yet)

    Wheels/tires:
17x8 Method Bronze NV (yes, bronze and. It black!)
    Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/70/17

Ordered the Shift Sense pro and waiting to arrive. Also ordered some recovery gear such as hitch receiver, bubba rope and gator soft shackle.

Ugh, this is fun but the mod bug is definitely infectious and wallet-draining. My direction is overlanding but will enjoy the bro-look for now.
