Awesome because that was why I didn't originally go with OME . So I take it that they corrected that problem and the clunking is no longer an issue? Thanks for that up gate !

Appreciate the response and feedback. Toytec said it would be too stiff and I looked into 887s but I want to try and get it right the first time

I haven't noticed any strange knocking noises with mine and I've been paying kinda particular attention due to the statements in this thread.

Thanks dude, I've sunk a bunch of money into it for only having it for a year, haha. I think once I get some UCAs and some decent all terrains it will be done for a while. I haven't uploaded too many to Tacoma World, maybe I'll toss some more in the second gen access cab thread.

I don't seem to hear the dakars squeaking anymore, but I have a pretty major clunk in the back when I hit a speed bump or something similar. Some are worse than others, but if it is a fairly sharp drop or if I don't just creep over the speed bump, it clunks. Didn't exist until I put the OME lift and dakars on. Any ideas on what it could be?

That's exactly what I hear in the front on my OME shocks.

When I'm coming off a speed bump, rock, down into a hole, and I'm going too fast for the shock, the suspension will downtravel and BANG!

This could also be due to the 885 coils being stiff and I'm only a 4cyl ACLB. Regardless, 5100s going on the front real soon like.

Mine happens even if it's not a big drop, which makes me think it's not the shocks. It can be a very small distance but somewhat abrupt. Could it be the dakars?

FWIW my OME and 887s have not made one clunking noise. Cant say much for dakars as they finally got on yesterday, but they are the updated ones with isolators installed, not the newest ones that just came out.

    I honestly think it's a weight/spring issue.

If you don't have enough weight to offset a stiffer spring, it'll extend fully really easy and knock. Like me, 4 cylinder, no extra weight up front yet. Riding on 885 and 90000 shocks. The springs are a tad stiff without extra weight and the shocks don't slow the recoil of decompression fast enough, thus the shock will knock.
Sometimes, when I jack my truck for various reasons, I feel like the UCA might be rubbing the spring on full droop and that's what I hear......it's 100% NOT what I hear.

How good do the 90021's ride compared to the 90000's? I'm def looking for a softer ride and I have no weight up front. Looking into the 887's over the 885's. Any pros or cons to this set up?

Anyone know where the number is at on the coil springs? Didn't think to look at them when I installed on truck, I've got tons of rake and kinda wonder if I received the wrong ones

Thanks! I see the white tag. Can't get my finger in there to turn it around to see writing. I'll have to check it out more tomorrow.

I would like to know the same thing about the 90021 only I am going from the 5100's. I was thinking when my 5100's need to be changed I would go with the 90021 paired up with 883.

I'm wondering what y'all with OME kits are running for UCAs? Should I be concerned about obtaining maximum wheel travel even though I only have about 2.5" of lift? I'm primarily looking to improve my alignment specs and avoid excessive maintenance so I've been considering the Light Racing or Camburg ball joint sets. Most folks seem to vastly prefer uniball sets but I'd be a bit worried about their longevity since I drive in salted areas every once in a while.

I run the Camburg uniball. If I was going with ball joint I would look into the JBA uca's. Their ball joint can be replaced without removing the uca's.

Hey gang, just bought a 2011 DCLB with 886s, shock spacers, and nitrochargers up front and a dakar leaf pack with nitrochargers in the rear. There is a CBI steel bumper up front, so a good 100 pounds on it. I've been driving a 2005 Access Cab with 5100s, an unknown spring, and spacers for the past 8 years. On my 05, the truck has plenty of droop and about 2.75" of lift up front. On this new truck, it is sitting at like 3.5" of lift with 0 droop (shocks are fully extended just sitting). The '11 is sooooo stifff. Even when I (155 pounds wet) jump on the bumper, it barely budges. I had a friend (180#) sit on the bumper over a head light while I tried to jack up a corner to see if I could compress the spring at all, and it barely compressed (less than 1/8"), just lifted the whole truck. I feel like these 886 springs I have are freaks or defects or something, that or I am just soft compared to everyone else who says 886 with no weight on the front is "a little stiff". Riding at full extension is jarring. I had a set of Camburg 1.25" uniball UCA on the 05 truck that I just swapped over to the new '11 truck, and they are maxed out. My CVs are also very steep and the boots are now torn (yay).

I am trying to decide how much to drop back down. I for sure want to take the spacers out, and it seems like all of my options are a softer spring rate (590 vs 660), I just need to decide whether to go with 885 (7mm shorter) or 884 (12mm shorter). I only want about 2" of lift for the sake of the driveline. What are your thoughts, 885 or 884?
