So searched high and low but only found one so far with the same issue and no replies. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/based-on-these-measurements-are-new-uca’s-needed.514069/page-3#post-16221790

Just put in 881s w/nitros (assembled by wheelers). LBJ's were also replaced. Noticed that the truck, while on stands and tires off (full droop), knuckle on the driver's side is rubbing the coil. Haven't yet checked with tires on and off stands. I did loosen the LCAs but did mark it and put it back as close as possible.

Anyone else run into this? Kind of sux my new springs are scraped up before its even been taken off stands o_O

    Thx.

So finally going to pull the trigger on the OME kit.

    Few final questions.

1- I'm guessing uca is recommended on this since it has the 888 coil?

2-can I add two additional 1/4s spacers to the front, similar to the setup attached and be ok ride height wise without added weight?

3- should I go ahead and get the ECGS now? Also how long does this add labor wise while doing the lift if having it installed?

4-want to run 275/70r18s on this setup. Should that be good to go without trimming?

    1. Yes
    2. I wouldn't run two of them.
    3. No, wait and see if it's an issue. It's easy to swap out.
    4. Probably not but you have a 3rd gen so I don't know for sure.

I've posted this question a bit, so apologies to anyone who's seen it elsewhere. Right now I'm running 887's but will soon be getting an aluminum bumper + winch for a combined weight of 110-120 pounds. To regain some of the lost height I'm considering running a 1/2" strut top spacer on the driver side and a 1/4" on the passenger. Should I avoid doing this and look into the 886's instead? I'm just concerned about the ride quality with the 886 when it seems the consensus is it's best suited for a heavy steel bumper and winch.

Current ride height with no weight up front (887's and dakars):

I personally would go with the 886’s. But how long have you had the 887’s? Going with 1/2” top plate spacers or less won’t drastically change your ride quality.

Appreciate the input. I’ve had them on for about a year and a half or so.

Not too long. Both options are relatively inexpensive, so you can try the setup you’re leaning towards and if it doesn’t work for you then switch to the other setup.

Sounds good to me. Technically, the strut top spacers take away from the max amount of travel, right? In that respect would the 886 be more optimal for better performance, or is that difference probably negligible?

You asked if it takes away from max travel. The answer is no it does not.

Did anyone with the full OME setup not get the new UCA? And is your alignment ok?

You ought to get them if you’re going with 885 coils or taller. 2.5 inches of lift is the guideline.

Even with 884s my alignment isn’t the best. Ucas are a +.

Is anyone with a 3rd gen willing to post fender to ground measurements with 5100/888 w/ medium dakar around a 285/70r17 setup?

Why? You have a low garage door?
