Same thing happens to me... I figured it was just an OME thing. Let me know what you find!

I got a response from ARB USA. They said the 887 coils should give 2" on my truck (not 2 1/4" as the HSOR chart shows), but I am well short of even 2", so something is wrong.

He asked me to send him pictures of the struts, so I did. Have not yet heard back from him yet.

These are the pics I sent him. I don't see anything that looks abnormal, do you?

The guy at ARB USA believes the springs were mismarked or mispackaged.

He said he will get a set of 887s Monday and measure them to make sure they are correct, and he will send them to me.

I guess I will have to pay for a couple hours labor to get the shop to fix it. Wasn't the shop's fault or mine, but I am the one who will get to pay (I bet).

Maybe you can sell the spare set to cover the fees?

They will likely want them back, at least to figure out what went wrong.

Hope it works out for you! And yes, it will suck a lot if you'll have to pay twice for labor and alignment...

Possibly true. But if they messed up in the first place, try to push for reimbursement.

    Good luck!

Question. I have a 17' Tacoma TRD sport 4x4 DCLB with a full OME lift kit, 888 coils and dakar leaf pack. Front sits 1" lower than back perhaps due to settling (maybe). I have the 1/4" top plate in for the driver side lean. Would it be ok to add 1/2" top plate spacers to both sides to level truck out? Thanks in advance.

A lot of folks say not to use 5100’s with the 886’s. Of those listed, I’d probably go with the softer ride OME.

Love my OME suspension! I ordered everything from Headstrong Off-road and Marie was awesome to work with. Installed it myself a little over a month ago and have not had any issues, just the loud clunk in the front when going over pot holes as @sorgon82 mentioned.

I have a 2012 access cab pre-runner so Marie recommended I go with this set up to get about 2.5 in front and about 2.75 in the rear:
    884 front coil spring
    90021 front shocks
    Light Racing upper control arms
    Light duty Dakar leaf pack

So because I have an access cab PreRunner, she recommended going with the 884 front coil springs over the 885 coil spring to get the 2.5 inch lift that i desired.

I still have a slight rake in the rear with the added weight from my camper and plywood platform which is exactly what I wanted

I dont know about both sides. You could move the 1/4" to the passanger for an extra 1/2" and stick a 1/2" on the drivers for an extra 1". I did this. You will be level side to side. But my cv boots were touching with 887 before diff drop, you might be in trouble with 888

@Evanike your truck looks awesome man. And your right Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road is amazing.
Just to clerify though, i dont have ome front shocks i have 5100 so the clunk over potholes isnt the regular ome clunk. Mine is a hard bang to the frame it sounds like, only once in a while on larger potholes. In the process of figuring it out

    Thanks man!!

Ahhhh thank you for the clarification! I jumped to conclusion thinking they were OME. Out in the desert they felt fine, but driving around town going over these specific pot holes is when I felt the stiff clunk, might be because they are still new? I checked everything out and looks fine... curious to know more about your clunk! Keep us posted!

OME dakar lift, MB TKO's, bfg KO2's, tinted, blacked out everything, cap.
Hey guys. So I have the OME Dakar 4 inch lift on my Toy and I have a question about changing the front height. I originally purchased it with the 884's for the front because I knew that with all the tools I kept in my truck it would ride about equal height. Well after a few years I finally have a job where I can keep an empty bed. Well now the rear sits a good inch or more higher than the front. Rather than remove a leaf in the rear I would like to keep the height and raise the front as much as an inch. Could I just add some spacers to do it? As much as maybe an inch or even just 3/4's of an inch? I would like to do it without having to get into changing A-arms and such. I can't remember how much lift I originally got with the 884's but I do feel as if it's settled a bit. Haven't had an issue with alignments yet. Thoughts?
    thanks

So heres my taco clank, more of a smash to the frame. 5100/887 + top plate spacers.
Only happened a few times and never on speed bumps, it absorbs those nicely and bounces back, doesnt bang. Only happens on quick incline drops/ potholes, not even that big. This is the little drop it banged off of to give you reference. If it happened every day id be more concerned.20180811_185521.jpg and this is how it sounds lol
    https://youtu.be/BgO6UJu9m4o
And it didnt contact the bump stops. I put a bunch of chalk on it. No contact or rub marks on sway bar or coils. Makes me think its a quick over extension bang, or quick fully collapsed bang. I dont know. Rides awesome 99.999 percent of the time

I didn't watch the video because I'm out and about but do see you have a sway bar. Any chance its contracting that? Maybe check for impacts marks or take it off and try to reproduce the noise.

I was under there today re torquing everything any theres no contact marks or rubbing anywhere. I didnt take the skid plate off and inspect the whole sway bar tho. I could take it off tomorrow and try. Good idea

Usually it contacts the coil if it hits anywhere so if you didn't see anything that probably isn't it. Thought I'd mention it though.
